I deal exclusively with a locally owned tire shop in town. They are good guys, and do good work....but I have found that they are not super careful when inflating tires.  Last time I got new rear tires one tire was inflated to like 40 and the other 35 (I always fine tune the pressure myself right after).  Make sure your tires are cold when you check the pressure....first thing in the morning is good I find.

thanks for the tip. I didn't have him mount it up to the car I just loaded it up on my accord took it home and did it myself after some retouches. Currently they are 35 fronts 32 rear. Still making a lot of noise but screw it I love how they handle. All it wants to do is grip grip grip. I think after I break them in to my car spec it will quiet down. Also I need to re-torque my bolt. The person that did the mounting for me was like since you got some paint in there just be careful. He also told me they were like 41 lbs but I totally forgot. anyways he did a good job mounting the tires on painted rims. the 2 rims that were perfect are still prefect. The other 2 that were so so have some of the paint scrapped off, but I retouched them.

All in all totally recommend the falken FK452. Also the 235 are perfect for the accord I love it how flat the car is on turns.

Ok, so now I'm forced by my parents to get all season tires because of the increased tread life. In order to maintain a relatively good quality, I'm going with ultra high performance all season tires. I've been looking at the reviews on Tire Rack, and I'm trying to decide between these tires:

Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position
Yokohama ADVAN S.4.
BFGoodrich g-Force Super Sport A/S

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/CompareTi ... artIndex=0

I will be upsizing the tire to 225/55/16. What would you guys recommend, or do you have any other suggestions as far as tire selection goes? The Bridgestone got very good reviews, but they're heavier than the other two.

cant speak for the tires you listed....

will they let you pick the size of the tire?

i would stay with the 225... thats what i have and its nice and wide.... in FL you could even go wider if you wanted since you will see no snow
i have 225/45/zr17
the 45's are nice because they arent like low low profile... but low enough to where its not alot of rubber (ugly)
also the lower you go the more stiff your ride will be

i have a directional thread and love them....awesome in the rain

Have any specifics as far as improvements go? I'm wondering if the extra weight on them will hinder anything... I'll be going up from my stock 205/60/16 tires.

Anyone else with thoughts on these tires, or any others?

I'm going to call around locally and see what everyone has to offer... I have a hunch that tirerack will be the cheapest, lol.

i went with 215/55/16 potenza g0119 grid. they are great all season performance tires that still offer a 50,000 mile warranty. i noticed a big difference in cornering ability and overall traction. plus the warranty is always something that would please a parents idea of what they are purchasing since im guessing that is the case with you. not to familiar with the pole positions, but bridgestone makes a quality product.

Thanks. I just took a look at those on tirerack, and they look pretty good, plus the 50,000 mile warranty will help. They are $30 cheaper, too. However, they are even heavier than the Pole Positions, lol.

Also, for some reason there are two different versions of the Grid; one has a max PSI rating of 51lbs, and the other one is 44lbs. Does it really matter?

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.jsp? ... 255HR6G019

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.jsp? ... 255VR6G019

From the looks, I think I'll be going with the Grid rather than the Pole Position. The Grid gets 50,000 over the PP's 40,000 warranty, and it's cheaper. I don't think the PP would be worth the extra cost for a daily driver (with some spirited driving). :P

Edit: I've just been reading the reviews, and there's been a ton of people complaining about road noise. Do you have that problem too?

Edit2: Just found a HP all season tire from Yokohama:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp ... mpare1=yes

They seem pretty comparable to the Bridgestones, and they are 6 pounds lighter, and have a 60,000 mile warranty. Man I need to make a decision soon, lol. My tires are like 1/100" away from being flush with the wear bars.

Alright, I'm here to chime in on this situation. The difference between the 2 Bridgestone Potenza G019 Grids you have listed is that one is an "H" rated and the other is "V" rated. The difference between the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position and the Bridgestone Potenza G019 Grids is one the speed rating. The 960AS has a "W" while the Grids has an "H" or "V". I personally have both the Grids and 960AS. (Grids 245/45 R17 : 960AS 225/45 R18) The 960AS will perform better in light snow and medium snow. The 960AS has siping that will grip to the road better then the Grids. Of course, the Grids has a better mileage warranty then the 960AS. I have driven the Grids in the snow, and they do track well in light and medium snow. As for road noise on the Grids, you are going to hear road noise no matter what. The Grids aren't that bad on road noise. To me, I can barely hear them.

The reason why the Grids are heavier is because of the compounds put into the tire. The heavier compound helps with wear, traction, handling, and durability. I have recommended a lot of the Grids, and I have not heard one complaint about them. That is me personally, but you can use this information to further your research. Here is another thing about Bridgestone, almost all Firestone, Tire's Plus, Expert Tire, Wheel Works, and Peerless tires will carry them, and this will help you out just in case you need a tire ASAP. Instead of ordering from Tire Rack and waiting around for it to get shipped.

Thanks a ton for that info, Thien! I don't think the snow will be a problem with me, so it'd be a better decision to get the Grids. Would you recommend just getting the "H" Grid? I don't even think that I'll be planning on driving over 130mph, lol. I also was just curious about the road noise... I don't mind it, but when my car starts sounding like a jet engine taking off just from the tires, then it becomes a problem, lol.

Anyways, it looks like I've narrowed down my search to the tire I need! Bridgestone Potenza G019 Grid 225/55/16, coming right up! I'm going to call around tomorrow and see where I can get it locally for a good deal.

"H" rated is fine. You can drop one speed rating down from what your vehicle cars for. I had the Grids on with my SC, and I didn't even have the tires slip at all. I can literally take corners doing about 60+ mph without the tires breaking free.

You'll find those readily available at just about any Firestone around you Jeff. You could get away with H speed rated tires, but if I were to go by what Tire Rack recommends they say to go with a V rated tire. Looks like Thien elaborated before I had a chance to post this.

Okay, thanks. Lol, actually, the V rating is a dollar cheaper at Tirerack. :P We'll see what Firestone has to offer. If they cost the same, I'll just go with the V rating.

Thanks again for all the help!
