**Good Tire Thread**

I was thinking we need a sticky thread where we can have lists of recommended or "good" tires for a variety of performance categories.  Shopping for tires can be dizzying with all of the brands, sizes, and performance ratings.  For now lets have "Summer" and "All-Season" categories.  I'm not a tire expert so I will need the help of others to submit their suggestions and I will add them to the appropriate lists.

I saw. I'm thinking it would be better if we have a sticky just about tires and not wheels...as your thread seems to be mostly about "hey do you like these wheels" type of posts. I'm trying to make a database of tires for people to quickly reference.

My vote for Winter is Bridgestone Blizzak WS60

I just drove on those in a Mazda Speed 6 we just got in, almost brand new.  They're a good looking tire and seemed to perform well in the lil storm we had here. This was the first time I had seen or heard of them.

Kinda funny how I have BF Goodrich g-Force Sports on my summer wheels and Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Positions on my winter wheels.

I run BFG G-Force Sports on all my sets, whether they are OEM Wheels or aftermarket. Got Falken ze-912 all season 215/50/17 on a set of EX-Ls in case I ever have to go up north during the winter though.

Yoko S-Drives. very predictable at limit in dry and wet conditions. wear excellent and a rather quiet for a ultra high performance summer tire

225/55-16 on the stock EX wheels are plenty for me on the street. Excellent value if you ask me

So far I can review the following:

BF Goodrich G-Force Sport 245/45/17 and 265/35/18
Great balance of sound, grip, and wear. Great value too! 4 out of 5 stars

Falken Ziex ZE-912 215/50/17
Extremely quiet, wears like iron, and decent grip for the treadwear and price. 4 out of 5 stars

You may want to toss the idea of including prices.  Different sizes have different pricing, and prices change with the fluctuating economy.  Just my opinion, but there are too many variables when it comes to tire prices to even list a range.

True. I thought about this.  For instance the price of a tire can range from $60-$150 depending on the size. Hrm...I'll delete the prices.

I will also throw in my recommendation for BFG G-force sports.  I will be purchasing my second set at the beginning of next month.

as much as I loved that tire It wore too fast for the amount of dry and espacially wet grip that it provided. I found the Yoko S-drives to be of much beter value handling, noise and wear characteristic wise. It's much quiter, provides a lot more wet grip with less noise [haven't noticed much of a difference in dry grip], and after 5k I haven't even seen a dent in the thread wear where as with the G-sports I'd be getting ready to rotate for the second time. I know tire choice is a difficult decision but look it up and see if you might end up being interested in a set

It's supposed to be the new and improved E100 with yokos latest in-house technology.
