^There's a ten minute video review of the evo shift.  the specs for it are certainly not spectacular, but it looks like a decent phone.  Not really an improvement over the original Evo, but at least you get a physical keyboard.

That's the same review I saw. I'm just not a big fan of the huge x large screen of the original EVO. I was considering the Epic for little while but I'm sure a few more phones will pop up in the meantime.

Has anyone noticed Verizon's 3G network running a lot slower lately? I've been doing a lot of speed tests with the Speed Test app, and most of the time my ping is ridiculously high at like 999ms, and my DL and UL are at like 100kbps and 200kbps. Sometimes it's even lower.

My Galaxy S on T Mobile measured at 169ms ping, 965kbps download, and 903kbps upload.... Verizon might have some issues in the near future.

AT&T is faster.. VZW's network has never been really fast, but Jeff those speeds are really slow.. when I get home tonight I'll run a speedtest and see what I get, I get horrible service at work so I can't really test it right now for you with a real speed.

I found out what the problem was. Speed Test was using servers from the northern US. I changed it to Tampa, and got 1.2mbps DL ans like 400kbps UL. However, that still doesnt change the fact that my internet has been going slower than usual. I think I need to wipe my phone and reinstall the ROM from scratch.

have you tried just wiping the data/cache for your browser?  mine internet has been fine and I'm using dolphin hd.. I know you said you switched over to dolphin mini just recently, maybe try going back..

starting fresh takes so much effort.. ugh.. I have to wipe my phone over the weekend to upgrade to the froyo leak that just came out for us fascinate owners.

Yeah, I've tried that. Starting fresh is definitely a pain in the rear, considering that I've finally got my phone to how I like it. It would take way too long to get it back lol.

Edit: here's a latest screenie of my phone. I'm still on froyo, but I like to think that I'm on gingerbread haha.
