Z, I have been keeping my eyes on wrecked CM's ever since I got my auciton license, and even the totaled ones are going for a couple of grand...if I were you, I would work on paying down your car, and make that your goal for the next year, no car payment is nice...once you have it paid off, think of what you can do with an extra $400 a month...that's $4800 in a year...and there's your J37 baby!

I have quite a few other things I have to pay down before I can pay down my car. My credit is so fucked right now, the car note is what's keeping me floating as far as my credit goes. I'm using the car to build it back up slow as I plan on buying a house shortly after I return.

So, I got a call at 5:45 this morning from my Dad. He is in Ohio for work and he left his car in the parking lot at work. Someone at the company called him and told him that the parking lot was flooding. His floor mats are soaked and there is a ton of shit in his engine bay. How should I get all that crap out? I took it through a car wash with an undercarriage wash when I picked it up, in the rain haha, and that got some of it but not all of it...

I would jack the front end up and spray some engine cleaner up there let it sit and hit it with the hose as for the interior that may be better left to a professional detailer chances are the carpet padding is soaked also.

Don't we have a detailing thread for that question?  I thought I said that discussion that would belong in any other forums or threads should not be posted here?  Please ask that question in the detailing thread Bill.  I'd like to keep this off topic.

No worries man. Shit happens. As for tree branches (which you didn't mention) just rip them bitches out! Do be careful of hoses and shit like that, of course.

How exactly did water cause tree branches to get stuck? Was it flowing water? Sounds like this was a lot worse than I initially thought.

His old man could've parked over the tree branches when he left before the rain hit. I've seen crazier shit.

I meant to take pictures just incase insurance was going to be needed. I talked to my Dad and he said he didn't feel like messing with insurance, so that's good, I guess. The water was flowing. When he goes out of town he parks his car in the same spot. Unfortunately, that is the lowest part of the parking lot. I'm not sure what it is called but there is a drainage ditch that runs around the office. He parks where the red van is in the picture. To the right is the drainage ditch and that was overflowing. It flows down hill so all the debris flowed with it. By the time I got there, the water had receded and all the debris was left. I was pulling branches out of his front fascia and there was a lot of stuff underneath it too. I was kinda concerned about his radiator, but it seems to be fine. I swapped it with the RX350 and brought it home to clean it out and I figured the RX being an SUV, it would be fine if it were to happen again.
