Yea the addition to your speeding(10-15 over posted speed) ticket fine is a tax fee of $3,050 that applies only to VA residents....
Some bs... they've changed some laws to hwys that will change posted speed from 65 to 70 in some places.
Dave it would be true if cops didn't have quotas they would need to meet. Cuz u can drive like a goody and cop would rape u and nail u with a ticket outa nowhere, then even if u didn't do it- it would be your word against his... Then u know the process from there.

Do they crush your car like they do in Canada if you're going 30 over the speed limit?

you can get your car impounded and up to a $10,000 fine for going 50+km over the speed limit.
also they can crush your car for street racing at excessive speeds

the law last time passed for va was similar but was for reckless speeding 20+ over speed limit. Now it's for 10-15+ over. I think the fee is much higher- i think triple of last. And u know that "smooth operator" for md/dc/va area is goin on- all thats about is a competition between the states to see who can give out most tickets, basically for state revenue purpose. So they rape u wit multiple fines. Even if u didn't do the crime I've heard they would  pull u over give u a bs story, tell u that u were speedin n then tell u they let u off easy by giving u a lesser fine like " failure to obey hwy signs" - I've heard it a lot!

This may be a dick thing to say, but it's hard to get into trouble when you don't break the law.  It took me a very long time to realize that, but it's a valuable lesson.

Depends on who you are Timmy! Just last year I had a cop pull me over when I had my tinted tails and gave me a ticket for those, tried to give me a ticket for my window tint until he realized it was legal and since he couldnt get me on that he gave me a reckless(general). Meaning that he didnt have me on radar and could just say whatever he wanted to the judge which he did. Just made up a story in court and the judge believed him.

He claimed I was weaving in and out of traffic doin 80 mph at 10am on a weekday in an area where there was still rush hour. So sometimes trouble finds you... Even got pulled over in my stock Sentra last year for doing 4mph over the speed limit on our lovely highway 66. I hate dick cops, not all cops, dick cops. Give the rest of em a bad name.

That's annoying when police officers take their job's too seriously and treat people like shit.  I've had enough police officers treat me like a dirt bag also.  I've also come across enough nice officers to realize that they're not all out to get me.
