This section is dedicated to the members here that reside in the Virginia and Maryland neighboring states. We all started as a group of 5 cars that and first got together on December 1st 2007 and since then, more members are found that have the same passion of modding the Gen7accord with everyone with their unique individual taste. More importantly, we are all committed to help each other out as a team and as a community in this forum. We are more than just a bunch of guys and gals that like to modify cars, we like to think of ourselves as a family.  Over the last year and a half we've developed a bond unlike any other that has solified our relationship in and outside of the forum. ^Ummm, I dont know yet. Ashley and her folks are goin out of time one of the first 2 weekends in March. Sooooo depending on which one it is I may be attending. Cuz when they leave it will provide me with some muchhhhhh needed alone time at the house.

Yeah man, living with 3 women is not easy on the ears or the mind. Ashley's dad lives there too of course but he's up a 4 to go to work and in bed by 7. So because of my schedule I actually see him like twice a week. So when they're gone there will be mucho chillage! Just in case I can go to the meet where are we talkin? Like right in B'more or the outskirts? And what are the plans? Also if I can go I wont be able to make it til night time like usual since it's a Saturday.

well, i think we were talking about meeting up here in bel air, it's about 20-30min north of b-more, straight up 95.  but that would just be during the day, then cruisin down to baltimore for some drinks or somethin.

looks like i'm going to have to cancel having the meet up here.. i'm going to be swamped with a new project for the next two months.  filming a movie for a friends video production class (yea, i'm not even in the class lol).  so all the little spare time that i have is devoted to that now. because i'm in it..

I still float around to v6p and acurazine throughout the day but this will be my home base just as gen 7 was.

yea, v6p always seems too big to me.. i've tried to post up in there, but it was pointless basically.  and i've never done acurazine either.  g7a was my home, now ECM is my home.

acurazine is good for cross knowledge. I'm always floating around the Tsx and TL forums. Plus they have a Ramblings section which is basically off topic that has just about every piece of news you can imagine.  Everything from the mainstream stuff to crazy hilarious crap that you would never hear about(for instance the story about the guy who got his d*ck bit off cuz he tried to rape a racoon), plus those guys over there are some of the funniest people I've ever come across.

Ok sorry I havnt posted in while....I am currently working in the 2nd annual Mega meet spot.....OBX!  it sucks.  Ok so I laughed my ass of when I saw Derrick said sex parties!!!  YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS   ha....OK and Brian.. I live like 10 minutes from Chesapeake Jail.  There is a decent place down the street from me that is like 800 a month.  one or 2 bedrooms.  When are you coming around my way??  I am usually home during the weekends but I am gonna be working out of town a lot these next few months.   And the cost of living down here is so much cheaper compared to near DC.   I say take the job here.  WE NEED MORE GEN7's around here!

Hey Derrick, I am giving up the S2K, just isn't practicale to keep anymore, sometime in mid-mach thru mid-april I will be getting my tax refund and will be looking for a beater, something like an old Civic, does not need to be running just looking to stay under $1K for it, let me know if you run into anything....

I would, if I had my own place to store it (would of been my weekend ride) and insurance is pretty steep for me to own something like that for the moment. would of loved it, something like that is very easy to detail.

It is upside down, the current payoff on it is $20K, when we bought it we rolled serveral $K for the pilot into it to only have one car note, but also at the time I had a 6 figure salary.....

i figured you were close to there bob.  i can't afford 800 a month man lol.  maybe with utilities included.. then i'd need a decent internet plan.  see, if i take the job, i could possibly be getting about an 8k/year raise.  i dont live on my own up here, although i think the cost of living up here in bel air is pretty much the same as chesapeake/va beach area.  i'm not sure when i'll be coming, but if i decide to take the job, i won't be moving down there until the end of may (gotta finish up my classes here) but i'll be coming to visit the area (look for apartments, visit relatives, check out the jail.. etc.) and such within the next few months.. depending on my schedule.

Ok, cuz I just found out one of the mechanics that works here has a 90' something LX civic 4dr automatic with about 200K on it but it's actually in really decent condition. The interior is very clean, tires are good and he just put a VA state inspection sticker on it. He's sellin for $1500 though, it may or may not last til you guys are ready. Either way I'll keep an eye out.

Got my rotors in January.  My brake pads just came in on Wednesday, I have been working out of town all week and this upcoming week also.  I am deciding on whether or not to hold off, and get my Steel Braided brake lines and install everything together.  Might get new rear rotors also

LOL! Yeah I used to hate when Ashley worked with Va's after school program.  She would come home sick it seemed like every week! I thought it was just her having a weak immune system cuz I get sick maybe once a year. But when she stopped working there I realized the change. So now that she works in real estate all she brings home is da sneakiness. LOL!

Well If Abailey4 is content with the same setup, then I trust his judgement on that. Other than that theres not much I can say about them because I dont have that setup. I'm pretty contented with my current brake setup for now, They warmup quickly and have that stopping power that OEM rotors and pads can't touch. But for a detail oriented person such as myself, I would try something else next time just because they do generate a lot of dust and I clean my wheels every other day because of that.

That's one thing I like about our set up is that is barely dust. Like our trip up to the Mega meet, even though they were just getting broken in we barely had any dust what so ever on the rims.

whats up with this years mega meet??? It doesnt seem like its gonna be a big turnout, like last year....Why did they have to change gen7 ??

we just gotta build up the hype to it, thats all. As far as what I have read, all thats known is that its at the obx or somewhere near your vicinity.  as far as changing gen7 goes, I didn't mind it at all personally but a majority of the folks did. I'm still a member there to keep an eye on our regional thread there and recruit some more folks.

Yeah I think we just have to keep the thread active.  We didnt get a lot of people to commit until the last minute last time.  There was a core of people that werent going from the start and a lot of maybe's.  Majority of the maybe's didnt committ til like a month before if I remember correct.

I've had the Storm for about 2 1/2 months now and its the illest. By the way, my brother owns a wireless store back home in NY, and he told me "DO NOT use a car charger on that phone it will F it up". Is anybody still down for the Honda-tech meet in Richmond? Mine doesnt lose enough juice that I would need a car charger. I charge mine up over night and I still have plenty of battery by the time I get home the next night.

I would imagine it is 2.5" diameter, just need to know the legnth so I can oreder the correct replacement. I can get the flex section for between $40 and $50 depending on the legnth, they come 4,6,8 inches long, as far as welding it in, probably like $75, $100 if I have to drop and reinstall the down pipe.

well i'm not the only red coupe in the squad. So who's ponying up for the spring time Skyline meet this year!? I had planned to go but the two dates that are being discussed are no go's for me. I believe there's a thread on v6p and of course acurazine.

I'm definetly down for it. The actual date is still being worked out to get the best chance of getting the biggest turn out possible. What I like is that there are actually rules and I know that Jcharged (Jake) will do a good job organizing this.

On another note, should we organize a meet of our own for the Fast and Furious 4 movie premiere? So far I got me and my co-worker going, along with her buddie that has a modded A4.

^I was there at the time you videotaped that, very awesome to hear that in person. What kind of setup was on his ride? I know you custom fabricated the tips for that staggered look.

Magnaflow resonator and mufflers, 2.5" from the cat to the Y and 2.25" from the y to the mufflers all custom welded mandrel bends , 304 stainless for all piping and hangers welded with stainless welding wire. It ended up costing about $1100 all together, but he will have that exhaust for the next 5+ years and gave him the look and sound he wanted.

If you dont use Paul I went to Hi-Flo custom exhaust in Manasass, VA. 703-392-6016, ask for Scott. They did 2.5" SS piping for me going to dual Magnaflows and painted the piping black for about $600. I already had the mufflers and resonator.

Yeah, magnaflow isn't cheap, you already had $300+ of the stuff....

^However when I got #10425 I had plans to get 2.25" piping but their was a mix up between Scott and I but they were able to make it work with the 2.5 that I ended up getting.

Get the resonator Derrick got, thats the one I use as far as the cat, I usually leave the stock cat in place and use a Vibrant 2.5" 3 bolt SS flange. If you want to replace the stock cat we can, but I like to use flanges and keep the cat a replaceable piece.

What I do is take raw SS mandrel bends,stright pipe and 1/2" SS round bar, cut and weld it together, basically a full custom fabrication.

Here is where I get my fabrication parts from, they are in Deleware so the stuff normally arrives next day.

Because in MD you cant just pay the fine and be done with it.  You actually have to have the tint removed, get it inspected by the state trooper or dmv and then put it back on again. That got old after the 4th time so we decided to just go legal when we moved to VA, well kinda close to legal(35 on the sides and 20 on the rear).

It takes me 6-8 hours to cut,fab, and weld it all together.

We could still do the 2.5" from the cat, if we did 2.25" from the cat we would then want to drop down to 2" at the Y, the reason for this in not to slow the exhaust gasses at the split which would increase back pressure. As far as drop off, if started early AM you could also just hang out.

We could go to Reston Town Center and very convient for me as its less than 5 minutes away from me in terms of travel. The scenary is very nice and pretty upper class, the only thing that turns me off about their movie theater is that theres no damn cup holders on the seats. On a positive note, the garage roof top, where I did a few solo photoshoots of my own, would be an excellent place to take a small group photo.

Yeah she's all good now though. Basically she had the suspension and camber kit installed but with no alignment and no adjustment to the camber kit til she came here. I think she only had to ride around like that for a day. Oh and btw that pic isnt of her car I was just using it as an example.

I recall Noori being one pissed off m***** f*****. took him 2-3 hours to alignment the car. if I'm correct, on her alignement sheet, she was like -20+ degrees off alignment he got the job down and shes riding low. depending how you look at it, shes as lowest she can get with those stock 7.5 gen V6 rims. which are 55 series in height if I"m not mistaken. I raised mine up 2 notches since I don't like the 'tucked' look. I just have mine just low enough to eliminate wheel gap on all 4 wheels.
but yeah, her camber was so bad, that sh**'s not even funny.

I was going to go there but I found a good place closer to home that had some good references. I sat with the guy the whole time and we worked through from cruising to wide open throttle. Also adjusted v-tech. Did a total of 6 wide open pulls and spent a good 30min cruising through the rpm range adjusting the fuel for daily driving.  I was there for about 3 hours today.

Steve whered you go? Im thinking about using Ptuning but just looking at those tuning costs! Get me a little nervous

JE its a performance shop about 15 min from my house. It was cheaper then P tuning and the tuner there knows his stuff. He explained everything to me and let me sit with him while he tuned the car though it took a little convincing on my part to get him to let me stay out there while he tuned it. Defiantly happy with the tune and the service.

hmmm... yea ive heard of JE and your running a F/IC too right? Well,.. ill take a look at their prices because it might be easier going to JE than Ptuning due to the distance from Pauls. Either way thanks for the info Steve

The photoshoot and location is perfect for me, however, the one thing I hate about their theater (based on the last experience I went there, 2 years ago) was that there wasn't any damn cup holders on the seats, but other than that, its just like any other movie theater experience. I have been there numerous times due to the fact that I won many free movie raffle tickets where I work in the past so I just ended up using it there.

Brian...I have EBC ultimaxx rotors with Green stuff pads as well. only up front.  The rotors were about 130-140 and the pads were about 60. so your looking at about 200 for a good ass brake setup. it might be different for the v6 though.  My car stops so much better now and it doesnt shimmy at all when im braking from high speeds.

He doesnt know shit about cars and wont take me with him up the the mechanics.  It keeps shutting off whenever it is at idle.  The mechanic told him there is some kind of "motor" that opens up the valves. I am thinking he might be talkin about the idle air control valve.  I am trying to figure out what he is talking about so I can do some research and help him out.  Ever heard of this problem of single turbo supras? thanks

btw, what size rims are you getting?  You should also consider getting an aftermarket suspension setup as well. because it will compliment your nice set of rims and not have that 4 x 4 (sittin high) look. many members here and some locals here (including myself) know now that a drop is a must!

I looking at 18" rims in the 6-spoke area, maybe black gloss.  I know i'm gonna need to drop her, i'm just not sure what type of system/brand i should go with.  Andy's Auto Sports has a few coilovers that look good and are reasonably priced (i guess) and they also have lowering springs.  I just don't know what i should go with.  I'm going a little partial to the lowering springs because i don't see the need to be able to adjust it.  i only want like a 1-1.5" drop

which coilovers look good to you and how much are they priced?  having the ability to adjust the height (at least) is FTMFW. that way you know how high or low you really want your ride, instead of just being stuck with a height prefix that a company has given for you (lowering springs). ultimately, its entirely up to you though, anything with height adjustment is also gonna cost more than any lowering spring set.

Those are Tein Basic coilovers which are decent. but I think you can look harder somewhere else just because I never heard of anyone paying for Tein basics for their asking price. (someone else should chime in). Another tip is keep your eye on the FS Threads and try to jump on it quickly if you see anything of your intrest.

As for rims, if your content with those, then go for it. What kind of tires are you wrapping them on.

About the Basics, there a lil rough for some people but I think there just right for me and Im coming from a set of half blown Koni Yellows and Eib. Sports, plus I wanna see how the basics feel after theyve been nearly slammed. Ill tell ya on friday tho.

Yea I was about to say I loved the look of the D2s and the ride, never been in Pauls car but Ive heard the NEX-GTs are good, also I think there a good $50 somethin less than the D2s well either way I think most of this convo should be in a suspension thread. Prolly should ask questions there ya know. But I will say being able to adjust ride height with coilovers has made my car muuuuuch more versatile, I couldnt imagine going through the winter as low as I was with my Konis.

Paul, what color pulley is that on that J36? Is it the same I chose?  

The PS pulley color is the stock black, just clean....

They come assembled with the top hats in place so with a lift only takes about 1.5-2 hours to install.

If it is bad, yes it would cause the car to die at idle, a good test would be to see if you can hold the throttle open just a little bit and get the car to idle, if so then 90% the valve is bad....

I would say about 3 hours since a don't have a lift.

Ok, so i'm on my way back from Tysons after the show at 2:30 am cruising down 495, and 3 cars go flying by me.  A Nissan, another Honda, and a BMW.  So i say "what the hell" and go chasing after em!  I catch up and i'm pulling ahead of the nissan and honda with the BMW still slightly ahead doing about 110mph and climbing.  BMW saw me catching up as I'm hitting 130+ and climbing quick, and quickly pulls away.... Lesson learned, I NEED MORE POWER!!!

I4 I wanna stay NA.  I'm thinking headers/exhaust, throttle bodie and intake man, cams, cam gears and valvetrain, fuel rail and injectors.  As far as power i think thats all i can do, idk if I can use a K-Pro though i saw a thread about it and how we can use it but i still don't know if it would help me much

Tremmor you can use Kpro, idk why ppl say they cant not its 06+ ks that cant. Check k20a.org for parts and all these bolt ons arent gonna give you a whole lotta power, well not the kind you want atleast. Build a k20/k24 frank and run kpro, I have most of the large parts you'll need or just drop some cams in and run kpro!

then again theres always f/I, turbo kits! Get a cheap greddy kit and a different turbo. Check k20a.org theres almost too many parts for sale over there!

what kinda parts do you have? and what should i do? i have no idea what K-series engine parts i would benefit from.  How much would you want for your parts?  I am gonna see about Skunk2 stage 2 cams with upgraded valves, retainers and springs.  And if i do run a K-pro, how do i use it? Not too good with the programing/computer shit all these new cars have.  I grew up building a Chevy 350 in a '66 Chevelle.  Nuthing but go!

Thanks Julie. Although Everyone knew when and where to meet up prior to the meet, it was just under certain circumstances that the others had. Not a big deal as there will be many other opportunities to meet up in the future. For everyone else that hasn't seen it, I recommend it for at least for the entertainment factor, especially if you've seen the 3 previous movies.

I know, i just didn't get Ryan's pm with his cell.  We should arrange another meet to make up for this obvious fail.  Think we need to assign sombody to deal with the logistics.  Shouldn't all be on Ryan to contact everybody.  I agree with jules on the fact that we need more organization.

haha, trust me man. I'm no Squad CO (Commanding Officer) What kind of logistics are you talking about? I dont mind volunteering to try to contact others and all and all, should be a team effort. However, if certain circumstances happen to anyone in particular at all we should also all understand them and also take that in consideration.

Logistics as far as scouting the venue for the meet, contacting people with detailed instructions, maps if nessicary that sorta thing.  I'm up to be a venue scout for future meets!

I can't really suggest what the next meet should be since i don't know what you guys like to do at meets.

For the most part, the one thing for certain that we DO at meets is parking lot pimp (photoshoot), then chit chat about cars and what we like to do or whatever. As far as actual activities goes, team cruises are the best, but any other activitie can be done in flexibility.

Then what we need to do is find a central location for everybody.

that would be nice, but locations for meets were rarely 'centralized'. Either one part of the group or the other would travel a longer distance.  Like we'll have a meet here in Va, but there are some members here that have to travel all the way from MD and vice versa. For the record, The folks from MD have always traveled the longer distance, even when the meets were hosted in MD.

Depends, some like older F22s have both a IAC and a thermo valve, the thermo valve will allow extra air flow while the engine is cold and close as the engine warms up, the Supra may have the same.

the passenger side and the 2 rear and the trunk were brand new and only the driver side was slightly dirty so I washed it and looks fressh now!

^ I dont think there's any good spots in Fairfax, esecially ones good enough that you would want to deal with FFX popo's. Compton Rd. that goes from Centreville to Clifton is pretty good though. LOL, sounds like a practice of communism in HP!  There wasn't any fighting. During the team cruises, its more like 'follow the leader' with Blinx having the most knowledge of that area overall and equipped with a radar detector, our chances are a little smaller getting caught. Blinx actually does pretty damn well on Joplin Rd even if he is K24 w/5mt.

Yeah, deffinatly need to upgrade the suspension (ie coilovers, swaybars, armbars ect) and wider tires as well.  I also noted that due to having an automatic i didn't have the acceleration you two did.  So i'm gonna have to get creative with my performance mods! MUAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!

I also have an automatic transmission, but like I said before you did pretty well. You kepted up with us too, even when we all got on the main road off of Joplin rd on the way to Blinx197's friends house. maybe a TSX 6spd tranny for you should be an option for you if you want to consider to be a clutch burning. I know bobsk24 is going 6spd on his K24, so he might or might not be selling his 5MT tranny?

Nah! I like my 5AT.  Just means i have to put some thought into my performance mods to compensate.  And besides! I know how to drive my AT like a MT!  Thanx to having a Hurst Ratchet Shifter on my '72 Satellite, the basic concept of manualy shifting the AT gears D1, D2, D3 and D is easy

I know I dont beat my tranny hard that often, mostly just during the meets. but I still have to be aware of the durability issue that is known about it. someone else should confirm if the kserie AT has the same issues as the J's...

After reading all 7 pages of that thread thus far, I see what your saying now in terms of the kind impression that your getting about the whole thing. It didn't really get out of hand until the last page and after all that nonsense talk, I'm also actually leaning towards the blueridge pkwy meet myself to not be part of that mess personally.

Changing my tires this week from 225 40 18 to 235 40 18 does any of you have the same size tire. I worried about rubbing in the rear.

I believe Paul is running that size in his coupe. I know Andrew (NHBP04Accord) was having issues in the rear with his 245/40/17 setup on his Koni Yellows.

No rubbing here, but only have a 3/4" drop in the rear on mine.

Ok, so after the Joplin run I've been looking at different suspension mods.  ie; coilovers, tie bars, sway bars, arm bars, and strut bars.  My question is, aside from the coilovers, how will these affect my ride and does anybody have them installed?  

And whats up with drilled/slotted brake rotors?  I'm also looking into brake systems to prevent slaming into Ryans rear-end on the next Joplin Run (which i hope is soon!)

Also, what do you all think of the Apexi WS exhaust system?

I have every major popular suspension mod, aside from the cusco chassis braces for our cars and all I gotta say is that I definetly do not regret going this route first. The car has been a lot more enjoyable to drive and I feel this is how Honda should of built our cars in the first place in a handling type of perspective. You will also lose the stock riding comfort, but I think its not that bad to get used to as the car does become more enjoyable to drive. no more of that stock body roll.

I have slotted rotors for over a year now and been nothing but happy with my brake setup as the car stops on a dime when I need to without depressing on the brake pedal too much, like on the stock pads and rotors. just a little more brake dust, but not that its hard to clean rims anyways. I know khouston from MA just got his apexi exhaust installed a month ago and that hes satisfied with the results of his exhaust on his I4 coupe. but thats all I can say about that.

2. DC Sports Strut Bar
3. Nuespeed Front Sway Bar/Progress Rear Sway Bar
4. JIC Arm Bar
5. Nuespeed Tie Bar

And Brembo has a front brake system with either drilled or sloted rotors

As far as my next mod, I'm doin the TSX Intake manifold, which I'm purchacing from Blinx! :)

They say (around the forums) that the drilled rotors for our vehicles are prone to cracking, but no one here has tried them to confirm that. If the drilled rotors weren't on backorder at the time I was ordering my brakes, I would of tried them myself.

Why Tein Basics, the ride height control with them sucks.
Why not get the much cheaper and just as effective 04-06 Acura TL 6MT sway bars?

For the cost effectivness and results, it doesn't get better than that. unless comptech drops their prices down by $100 less. but maybe Tremmor wants a slightly thicker bar?

The basics do not have a seperat ride height adjustment, to adjust ride height you actually end up changing the spring tension.

Paul when you got your NXT coils what was the height already set at 3/4. I got my 235s mounted on the front today but not the back because they were going to rub. I'm going to get the NXT and rear camber kit before I put the back tires on.
