I hear ya Paul. I'm not saying the J is a bad motor to build, by any means. I'm just saying that it's not a practical upgrade for my car because of what I started with and what I have invested into my car already. It's a shame that Hondata has nothing for the J Series like they have for the K Series. You would be making much more power with your builds then.

Hahaha. I'm ready to go at it when the weather is nice again. Let's be honest though, torque is great to have if you can put the power down. The major downfall to Kevin's car is that he still has an AT. Why don't I come down there next spring and we'll have a little fun on the track? You have one near you?

Thanks Jowell. I know I'm not the first SCed K24, but I do believe I am the first SCed K24 Accord. Right now, I just want to pull this motor to get one with proper VTEC.

The conversations we've had lead me to believe that he wasn't quite ready to do the swap. I'll wait until the spring and then we'll see. I'm definitely willing to make a run at the track and see who wins.

Only one way to find out Paul. My goal is to make about 300-350 whp next spring with the TSX K24A2. When the new motor goes in, I'll have a K20A2 oil pump, a K20A2 exhaust cam, the M62, and possibly go with a smaller 3" pulley. I'm currently running a 3.15" pulley that peaks at about 9-10 lbs of boost at 7000 RPM, so I hope the smaller pulley makes more of difference. I'm not completely up on the efficiency of the M62, but I hope that the smaller pulley and the fact that the K24A2 will have a 7500-8000 RPM redline doesn't affect the performance of the M62. The main concern that I have right now is the amount of heat generated by the SC. The Comptech intake manifold is designed in a way that you cannot use an aftercooler, and RedShift Motorsports seems to be in no rush to finishing the development of their intake manifold to adapt the Comptech Eaton M62 with an aftercooler. It looks like the only way I can reduce my intake air temperature is with a water/methanol injection kit.
Paulius, there's no reason to frank a K24A2. It already has performance VTEC, which is a step up from the K24A4. The only point to swapping heads would be to get a better flowing K20A2 head, which would be a marginal upgrade in performance. If anything, I'll upgrade the valvetrain to rev up to 9000 RPM and get some aftermarket cams.

The real issue with a smaller pully is the spin speed of the blower, the eatons max out at 14K RPMs, what is the diameter of you crank pulley, with a 7K redline you don't want to go smaller than 1/2 the diameter of your crank pulley.

Hey Tim, dont know if u have seen this thread yet, might be worth looking into
http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=679733
They are almost done with the after cooler set up for the comp-tech manifold. Email (jmercado) over there for more details. Its pretty similar to the one comp-tech originally made for the kit but where never produced (aside form the 3 prototypes that were made). it will work a lot better then meth injection and will only cost a couple hundred bucks more.
320-350whp can be made with a 11psi pulley (the max psi u wana go on a m62 and not over spin it) and after cooler and seeing how you are going to have a k24a2, that should make things easier.

Paul, I was going to run the stock TSX pulley, but have an under drive crank pulley that I could also run.
Adi, thanks for the info. I've already contacted him about the aftercooler set up. It would be worth it to me to have the aftercooler over water/methanol injection. It looks like my motor swap just got more expensive.
