AC Blowing Warm Air ( AGAIN!)
«
on:

Hey guys, I need some assistance.
I apologize in advance if this topic came up before, I don't have the opportunity to search the threads.
So if this did come up, if someone could point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.
As of Saturday, my AC has been blowing warm air. Prior to that day it worked perfectly, but now it's just hot air.
My ride is a 06 V6 sedan with Navi & climate Control.
Would you guys know if this is a busted AC unit or if it is as simple as needing an AC recharge.
Since I no longer have a warranty, is there a way for me to diagnose this without taking it to the shop.
Thanks in advance,

Did you make sure it's on 'cool'....kidding!
I dont know of a way to check it yourself. Usually, depeding on the shop, they'll check it for free.

How many miles do you have on your car? My clutch went out at about 55k miles. First I checked to make sure the compressor was getting power. It was so I just took it in. We have had a few cars with clutches going bad, so I would get that checked. I went out to eat with cold air went back to my car to go home and I had hot air, so it sounds similiar. In my opinion if you need a recharge already there is a problem, but then again what do I know. Good Luck.

I guess he has money to burn. I'd rather waste my money on parts that actually make my car faster, hookers, and drugs. Fucking amateurs. :

Thanks for the input.
Both sides are blowing hot air.
the car just has less than 31,000 miles.
Bill, do you mean the compressor?
On my previous 03 K24 sedan, I had about 36,000 miles on her when I traded her in and the air was blowing cold. it's funny that once the warranty is up, now the fun starts. lol But these are hondas, so we shouldn't worry.

I'm talking about the clutch on the compressor. My compressor was fine, the clutch was just "burned up" as my mechanic said.

^Yeah, that happens, but is very rare on these Denso compressors.

I went through a ton of work to fix my A/C issues a few years back. Here's what I did.
- vacuumed and recharged my refrigerant (with IV dye to check for leaks)
- after we determined that there were no leaks, we tested the compressor clutch and found that it wasn't engaging
- replaced the compressor clutch
- replaced the condenser
- replaced the low pressure line because I broke it while replacing the condenser
- replaced the compressor
Replacing the compressor finally fixed it. I hope that you don't have to go through everything I did. I'm sure Paul will be able to get you taken care of though.

Thanks for the info guys, The weekend is coming and I'll test it out. Hopefully its something simple as a recharge.
Update: I just remembered that I have mechanical breakdown coverage through my insurance and I just had it confirmed. So, if it is something more than a recharge, I am covered
