I will be driving down the road and my headlights will randomly flicker, dim a little bit. I also notice this when I roll up a window or multiple windows at the same time. I have a Gold Top battery thats probably three to four years old. Is this a common problem or is some thing wrong that you all can tell from my description. I noticed that battery is tiny compared to my parents cars, so can I put a bigger battery in? Thanks for the input!

I get the dimming headlights as well. Especially if I have multiple electronics drawing enough current from the electrical system. It may be your battery is on its last legs. Get it load tested and that'll tell you for sure.

So this happens when you're driving?  If so, it has nothing to do with your battery.  It doesn't hurt to have your battery load tested, but you should have them check your alternator too.  Your battery's sole purpose is to start your car.  Your alternator provides power to all your electrical devices when the engine is running.

I get a similar problem, but my headlights (including my interior map/dome lights if they're on) will dim only when the A/C compressor kicks on. So my headlights are constantly dimming whenever the compressor turns off then on again. Maybe I need to get my A/C checked or something.

That's pretty normal man. Probably the only way you won't get the headlight dimming is if you upgraded all your ground cables, and never used your A/C.

Seriously, though, your headlights should dim briefly when the compressor kicks on because of the load it puts on your electrical system.

Hate to revive an old post but, I'm having an odd little issue. While driving just my drivers side headlight dims a little bit. It seems to be totally random it will dim for a few seconds then get bright again. All the connections have been checked, and they are all fine. Could it just be a light bulb shitting out or is my problem likly bigger than this?

It sounds like the bulb man. Try switching sides and see if the problem follows. If it does, replace the bulb.

The driver's side is the worst one too. Fucking battery in the way. Try going from below with your car on ramps or something. Might make it easier.

put the HID harness on your headlights. That should give them direct power from the battery once the car powers on.
