I'd rock one.  I'd probably pick it up in TX and drive it back if I could though.

I looked into that first.  It would be about $150 for a 1 way plane ticket and then a 1,500 mile trip home.  With 15 mpg average, we are talking about roughly $350 in gas to get it home.  I think I'd rather spend the extra $100 and just get it transported.

I would pass on it. You would dumping way more money into it. Those exploers have a TON of problems.

This is my main concern.  Also, I'm worried it might not pass inspection so I'd have to sink a bunch on money into it just to be able to register it.

Sounds like it's a pass on the exploder.  Not really a practical option if you don't know exactly what you're getting into.  For the money you may make on it from flipping it, you'll probably have a bunch of headaches.

Yeah, too bad it wasn't being sold from my office or it would have been a much better deal.  The logistics kinda ruin it.  Oh well!

The flipping was caused by the firestone tires they were sold with... I think there was a recall and those problems ceased.
Actually, I believe that was Ford finding a scapegoat for their chassis instability and lack of proper design than it was a fault of the tires.  A tire blowout or thread separation should not cause an SUV or truck to roll over; granted that part of it is how the driver recovers the vehicle.  At the point, I still think that the vehicle design of the Explorer did not lend much of a chance to the driver for a proper recovery.

The problem also existed with tires from other manufacturers; it was just that the majority of the cases happened with OEM tire fitment.  At the same token, Ford recommended a tire pressure that was outside the bounds of the range of safe pressure for those particular tires.

Media also added their spin to it; just like the media spun the Lexus/Toyota stuck accelerator issues.

I wish I could get a legacy gt wagon.  I was online last night looking at th Subaru website, they no longer make the gt. just the outback.  It's a damn shame cause they look awesome with a little drop, a roof rack and the sleek hood scoop.  What year are you looking for, Z?

Wifey and I are camping this weekend and the car was loaded to the max with all of our gear, so I know how you feel about needing more space.

I'm looking at the 05-07 generation specifically. Those are the best looking ones in my opinion.

Thinking of selling the ody next yr, get her a tdi jetta wagon, 19 mpg compared to 40.

Even with my current situation, I want an eg or ek civic hatch, and do a K swap with 6mt. These civics are abundunant around here for only a grand. The car whore in me will never fucking die!!!
