New Exhaust Set Up

I'm not sure if they do a sniffer test on your exhaust in RI, but you can use the spark plug defoulers like I did with my cat.  Yes, I am exempt from having inspections because my car is registered in MI.  I am going to FL in 2 weeks.  I will be in Orlando, so I doubt I will be meeting up with Rolo or Alex unless they come up.

Ri doesn't currently do a sniffer test although they have the ability to do so. I'd imigine if something looked suspicious they would conduct the sniffer test. I know when the did my girls camry inspection the had it up on a lift and were looking around. I don't know if they would notice a defouler or not.

how often do you need to get your car inspected? or does that vary from state to state?

nice pick on the magnaflow. should be what you're looking for, and from the two videos i've seen with derricks exhaust it sound nice as well.

New cars usually have a latency period that you don't need to get them inspected, at least that's what it was like when I lived in Jersey.  Inspections are annual in most states.  Thankfully, Florida has no emissions inspection requirmemts

If you read my post above yours RJ, you may have noticed that I do not have to get my car inspected.  Either way, I should have these in a few days.  They are going to have to wait a while before I install them.  I will probably wait a few more weeks before I have these installed.

Who said I was running catless?  This new set up will only change the mufflers, nothing else.  Right now, I have a DC SS header with a new flex pipe, Magnaflow 5400 series high flow cat, Greddy Evo2 for the V6 coupe exhaust with one of the resonators replaced with a resonator called a "turbo tube" that my muffler shop get's exclusively.  The turbo tube is nothing more than a 18" body 7" fiberglass packed resonator with a baffle to reduce the noise.

In RI, inspections are required every 2 years.

I envy states with no emissions qualifications for inspection. I'm pretty sure you can't get a sticker with a cel on though right? Also, parts that are 50 state Carb exempt should have no issues passing inspection correct?

what is the different between the resonator? is one chambered an the other one straight through? or is it the density of the fiberglass packing?

Yes the date hasn't been nailed down but, it looks like Newport RI. We don't talk about these things "overthere". Tim any idea why your current set up throws the cel is it the cat?
