looking for some advice from any knowledgeable AR owners.....I have a complete ar15 lower on the way.  I am planning on building it up to be a dedicated 9mm ar.  What are some good but affordable 9mm uppers and where do you recommend trying to find them other than gunbroker?

My sister-in-law's father passed away last month and left her with dozens of firearms.  She is making me a list of what she has so I can have first pick before they go up for sale.  Looks like I'll be making a purchase soon!  Once I get the list I'll post up a few I'm interested in and maybe you guys can help me figure out a fair price to offer her.

That brings up a question I had but forgot, how do you go about purchasing a firearm from someone in another state?  I'm assuming they can't be shipped so I'm not sure how it works.

the firearm would have to be be transferred to a FFL in the buyers home state.

You wouldn't have to go through a ffl depending on the state. I would however just do a detailed bill of sale. It's expensive to ffl

Say he is buying 5 guns, that's 100 bucks on top of the cost of the firearms. It is It is a felony to sell a firearm to someone from another state without going through a FFL. Not really heavily enforced, unless the ATF is actually looking for it. I've done private party transfers completely lawfully with a bill of sale and never had any issues. In fact, My trade for my XDs, there was no paperwork involved.

Gah! Such a tough choice! There is a sig 226 up for trade. I could offer my XDs and probably get it. But the xds is such a perfect carry gun. But It would be a lot easier on the wallet to shoot the 226 lol
