Lessons about what Jeff?
Ike, Try to read through all the reviews that say it jams and find if they have what ammo they were running. I think most .22 Pistols come with ammo recommendations. Also, there is a review on youtube by Nutnfancy where he reviews the .22 conversion kit for a glock like mine and he sort of reviews .22 ammo too. It is a lengthy video but well worth watching.

After reading through this
http://www.spentbrass.com/pistol/walther/p22/review.php
review and the hundreds of user posts at the bottom I think I'm going to stay away from the Walter P22.
Half of the reviews spoke of constant jamming, regardless of ammo used.
Most importantly, there were several dozen reviews saying that the slide is not only prone to cracking, but that the slide has broken in half while firing and injuring the shooter. The zinc alloy slide seems to be a real problem with these guns.

I'm going to look into the Ruger 22/45 that was suggested earlier. Any other .22 suggestions? Something that can be taken apart and reassembled without tools would be nice. That's another thing I didn't like about the Walther.

Skippy is a firearms instructor. I'd rather learn how to shoot/use a gun the right way the first time instead of just picking one up and learning myself. I know there's a lot more to it than just pulling the trigger.

Definitely a person I would recommend going to for instruction.

So I went to the range last week and put 200 rounds through the new glock 22. I shot terribly. I pulled to the left all day long. I'm gonna put a ghost 3.5lb trigger connector in it and see if that doesn't straighten me up. I also ordered an extended mag release. The stock gen4 mag release is to low and I would have had a terrible time tactically reloading.
Update: I just installed the Ghost Trigger connector, The trigger feels pretty good. Gonna take it to the range tomorrow and see how well I shoot this time. It was pretty simple to install. The extended mag release was a pain in the ass until I realized an easier way to hold the spring up to get the mag release in.

I'm pretty set on getting a Glock when I get my tax return this year. Trying to figure out which model to get though. Leaning towards the 17 so far...

The 17 is a great gun. Try gunlistings.org and see of people are still price gouging in your area. Or have a friend who is military find a glock LE dealer and get you a much better deal. The glock LE price is 398.20 on lost models.

Almost nothing on that site for MD
I'll keep that price in mind as I shop around. From what I've seen so far, it looks like the 17 runs about $500 in most shops around here.

That's about average For most gun stores. It'll probably only come with 2 magazines though

Traded my glock today. Got a Springfield XD-s. I came out ahead on the trade. It's worth more than I had in the glock
