Check engine light went off on its own. Been dealing with this for the past 18 months. Code is slow response from secondary O2 sensor. Changed it 3 times..... light still comes on when the car is in a bad mood. It's pissing me off, everytime it comes on the car goes into limp mode. I hear TDI in my dreams at night..

Glad it went out Jason. Is there any way you can completely get rid of it? Intermittent problems are the worst problems to try to fix
Now I am not holding out on you guys as far as pics go but I ordered something today to help me with an appearance that I want to have hahahahahaha I am waiting on what I bought to ship and after that, I have a pretty easy mod(if you want to call it that)

DIESEL POWER!!!!!
Too bad there aren't that many options for diesel passenger cars.
I wonder how much a diesel Honda engine from the Euro market would cost......and then put it in a Civic/CRX + nitrous + propane....
Big Mike has a secret (I don't believe it). How is Riverbend treating you?

haha great pics.
bank02 slow response is most likely due to your CAT being packed with carbon. The opposite is bank02 low efficiency.
if your secondary was defective you'd get a reading saying bank02 no response
thanks ricardo! too bad you couldn't makt it up here
You alive from riverbend Big M?

I just can't see you needing a new cat already, I had a bank2 code and I just replaced the 02 sensor which was around 100 bucks.

how many miles? Honda uses one of the most dense catalytyic converters on the market, if you take it off one day you'll know what I mean. It's not uncommon to get only 100 - 130k out of it.
Carbon cleaning does not reach into the CAT, I know this from first hand experience so don't blow any money on it. to let it soak is a lightly acidic solution and pressure wash it out is more trouble then it's worth. And even then I can't promise that the shell won't get corroded, I know the guts won't.
You could gut it and use 2-3 spark plug anti-foulers on the secondary O2 but you'd lose a little low-end torque and gain only 1 pony on the very top since you'll have a big chamber where the exhaust gases cool down and disrupt the exhaust velocity, kind of an opposite of a bottle neck.
A new CAT is prolly around 130 bucks. Random Tech cat is close to 250. However a high-flow should be only around 75, if the exhaust shop can weld 2 flanges on to it for you to replicate the size of your stock CAT you should be able to save for a night of drinking and go another 150-200k until your exhaust rusts away.
hope this helps

I have 147,000 miles on my original cat. Not going to waste the time to clean if its only a couple hundred bucks. The OEM is around $500, any suggestions where to source a cheaper option?
