For those of you who are upgrading to RDX Injectors for your build, I wanted to compile a parts list and a DIY so you guys know exactly what is needed.

Parts:
Acura RDX 410cc Injectors - Part # 16450-RWC-A01 (4)
Acura RDX O-Ring (fuel rail) - Part # 91301-RDV-J01 (4)
Acura RDX O-Ring (intake manifold) - Part # 91302-RDV-J01 (4)
Acura Pigtail Wires - Part # 04320-SP0-E00 (1) - comes with 10 pigtail wires
Toyota Scion TC Injector Clips - Part # 90980-11875 (4)

Okay, here are all the pictures I took from when I was prepping everything a few months ago.

The Scion tC connectors from Toyota.

I opted to use new Honda OEM pigtails.  They come in a pack of 10, so I had a few left over in case I messed up.

The pigtail connector is too long to fit into the tC connectors.

So they have to be modified to fit in the tC connectors.  I used a dremel with a cut off wheel to notch them out so they clip into place and can't back out.

Here's how they should fit in the tC connectors.

After that, I just soldered them in place of my existing injector plugs, changed the injector size in kmanager and called it a day.  If you don't know how to solder, don't bother doing this upgrade.  Do not use crimping butt connectors or anything else but solder and heat shrink.

Here's the final result.  I'll try and take some better pictures when I have a spare moment.

Do the injector assembly come with the O rings or do you still need to buy them seperately?

I see you also got the skunk2 composite fuel rail tooo. i was thinking about getting that for the cam set up but i wont know for sure until they tune the car and tell me that the injectors are being over worked. i think you get what i mean right

You need to purchase the o rings separately.  That's why I originally listed the individual part numbers.  You need to get # 1, # 26, and # 27.  RDX Injectors

The DIY looks good Tim. I was wondering when this thread was going to reopen.

Lol Tim, what if someone said that they decided to use wire nuts instead? I bet we'd see the banhammer reign again. :P

Pretty neat DIY, though. Not sure if this has any affect on stock motors with bolt-ons (as in, i shouldn't probably do this), but hey, for every mod, you're one step closer.

To put it into perspective, we have 270cc injectors.  The RSX Type S has 310cc injectors, and you can bolt on the Comptech SC kit and an injector upgrade is not necessary with the standard pulley that creates 6 lbs of boost.  Bolt ons will not require an injector upgrade.

Excuse my ignorance, but what sort of performance gain would one achieve with just upgrading the injectors? Would the stock ecu recalibrate itself for the increase in fuel? What if you coupled the injectors with kpro?

You won't really see much performance gains from upgrading the injectors and don't have any other mods. Hell, they're unnecessary with straight bolt ons. Now, if you have some sort of forced induction i.e. N2O, turbo, or SC, this is a necessary upgrade. Starving your engine for fuel is not really a good thing.

In the post above yours, I said that bolt ons do not require an injector upgrade.  Installing injectors alone on a stock motor (or with basic bolts ons) will do nothing for you.  Your stock ECU will not recalibrate for the larger injectors and will damage your motor.  Even a motor with bolt ons and K-Pro will not justify larger injectors.  This is for people who have built their motors or have gone FI.  The RDX injectors are a popular upgrade because they are an inexpensive alternative to aftermarket injectors, yet still retain OEM reliability and spray pattern.

i went ahead and emailed the guys at brian crower about this for my set up and here is what they said

The injector upgrade is not mandatory for the stage 2 cams but it will enhance the performance. If you have any questions feel free to give me a call @ ext 113. Thank you for your interest in BC products.

Thank you,

 Dustin Spencer

tim, when you notched the pigtail leads, do you know how much you cut off with the dremel? was it an even cut across the top?
