New car for Dad R8 or GT-R
«

Well Dad's lease is up on his 750 in June so he asked me what I thought he should get as a new car. I told him immediately, get an R8 or a GT-R. Whether or not he actually gets one of those is probably slight slim, but I'm working hard for the GT-R. If you had a similar choice, what would you advise?

After watching Iron Man last night I would say the R8! God that car is sexy! However I dont know the performance or price of an R8 vs the GTR. Dont get me wrong though if I hadnt seen that movie last night I'd be saying GTR all the way.

A GT-R would be quite different from a 750. Does he need the space of a 4 door? If he does, I'd go with the R8.. at least, if it were limited to those two. But if he wants different, doesn't need the space, I'd go with GT-R all the way.

He needs enough space for our Black Lab and/or a passenger. He said the 750 was too big for him, too much of a gas guzzler, especially with rising gas prices. I'm moved out for college and my sister will be soon, plus my mom has an SUV. I haven't seen Iron Man but I heard its amazing.

The GT-R or R8 wouldn't exactly help with the gas guzzler issue

I'd say either one is a good choice, but I'm also a big fan of the E90 and E92 M3's.

Both the GT-R and the R8 are nice, if I had a choice I would go with the Audi. I have seen several in person and they are hawt! Either way, who wants a Nissan badge at the back when the car costs $70K + ?

I never liked Audis' or Nissans'. A few Nissans catches my eyes, but the rest are total junks IMO. I would try to see other options.
Skippy = crazy wack job with no life, but is the God of K-series in my eyes.

Idk, my dad just seems to keep getting the same car and I want him to change. He's been driving the 7 series since I was born, with a brief stop at the SL500 and a jag. He really wants that sports car type like the SL500 again since I'm gone and my mom has the bigger car. He asked me to do some research since he knew I was in the big into the car world. He hates domestics too.

You can always have him stick with the 7 series and have him get the Alpina B7...

What about an Aston Martin V8 Vantage. Those cars are pretty sexy and not so common.

The new IS really doesn't do it for me. They took a shitty approach, that so many manufacturers do, by only offering the lower HP trim in a MT and the high HP trim is only available in an AT. Fucking Lame!!

If I know him, he'll probably look into the SL500 again or something like that. Our neighbor has one like it and he really likes that. I just wishing he was getting our neighbor's Ferrari....
