Me and my roommate Dave are going up to Orlando Speedway this Friday to see if his stock tC stands a chance against my modded 7th gen.
Skippy has said he'll stop by if he's available. We should definitely try to get a bunch of Accords to rep at the track!

Sorry this is such short notice, but hey it's Friday!

Date/Time:

Friday, April 24, 2009 - 6:00 PM til 10:30 PM

Price:
General Admission is $10 - Parking pit passes & kids under 12 free
Add $5 for racers (so $10 for pit, $15 if you'll be racing)

Location:

Orlando Speed World Dragway

19442 East Colonial Drive  (Hwy 50)
Orlando, Florida 32820

If Orlando doesn't work, try "Bithlo" as the city.

+2 for if I lived in FL! But Steve you'll take a TC! Ive walked plenty of them around here in digs and even on windy roads! They dont get up as quick as Gen7s. I say this from 1st hand experience because I used to have a Camry Solara same 2.4 engine and additionally Ive driven many friends TCs. Theyre far from worthless but even farther from race cars than our 7th Gens

Of course everyone who's not in Florida wants to go. Where are all my FLCM peeps? We need to have our first track meet!

Im a maybe!  Im seriously considering it.  Is it $5 to race all night or $5 per race?  I just wanna take my car down the track once or twice, maybe race you and any other Gen7 that may be there.  I bet the list to race fills up fast too

EDIT: Ill be there!

To answer Ben's question I do believe it is $5 for a full night of racing. Back in PA you got 5 races on grudge nights and on test and tune nights could just run your car as many times as you want and it wasn't too crowded. I think since they combined their Test and Tune and their Grudge night it will either be super crowded or not too bad since they have these twice a week.

I wish I had 1/4 mile track closer to me.  I gotta drive 2 1/2 hours to one. I do have two 1/8th tracks but it not the same, as soon as the fun part starts the race is over

I am here. Not bringing the Porsche, but might join you with the Accord. In answer to your question, as I have been there before, you pay $15, sign a waiver, they put some show polish on the window with the last 4 of your social and you go for it as often as the crowd allows in the timeframe. It is near impossible to line up against a specific person. Basically they line up all the cars 12 and under in two rows and all the cars 12.1 and over in the other two rows, with a 5th row of under 10 second cars. Basically who you run, is totally blind luck. It is know as their test and tune. I might come just to watch the cars run. I have no interest in running the Accord and I am not ready to launch the Porsche yet.

That's the reason I'd like to have as many cars as possible, Scott. I figure the more of us there are the better our chances of racing each other. It was the same way at the track in PA. You either raced the person ahead of you or the person behind you and you don't really know which one it'll be until the two in front of you line up. But you should definitely come just for kicks even if you don't want to race the Accord.

Last time I ran the 1/4 mile I got a 16.6 as my best time and that was with a co-driver. That was with intake only. Hopefully the TSX I/M will shave off some time and the suspension upgrades will help me launch faster without any wheel hop.

Steve-o, I was gonna go, but by the time I got home from work, it was past 8pm and there was no point in driving over there, paying $10 to get in and leave an hour later. I totally wanted to go too. When are you going to do this again? I will go. I need to get your info, PM me your cel number, as I was going to call you to see if you wanted to swing by and see the new whip.
