Im gonna buy these as soon as I get some quick questions out there.  I just want to make sure.

On the Comptech SSK the site says ALL MODELS and then it say 6 SPEED.  I got a 5 speed, does it matter or are they different.  And the Comptech and Neuspeed look exactly the same do you recommend one over the other?

On the Monster Knob, do any of you have this?  I was thinking someone did but cant remember who.  It looks like a really nice knob plus it has really good reviews.  It doesnt get hot in the summer or cold in the winter.

I have no problem paying this much for the two but do you guys know of any place cheaper to buy them from?

The Neuspeed and Comptech SSK's are pretty much identical (other than the name).  They will work with both 5 and 6 speeds.

thats what I thought just wanted to make sure before ordering.  And im goin with the comptech because it seems to be cheaper

I think Rick has the monster knob if I remember correctly.

If you want a knob that doesn't get hot you should consider a carbonfiber one

A DIY is really not necessary.  They come with instructions and they are also available on the Neuspeed website.

My Momo CF Shadow shift knob still got hot in the summer.  No where near as hot as my Skunk2 shift knob though.

I already ordered the knob and SSK last night but thanks for idea.  Although I dont have a single thing that carbon fiber so it wouldnt really go with my car.  As far as the DIY goes I can do one if you really want me too.  But from what read the instructions that come with it are really straight forward plus theres a video in you tube i believe

I use a cover I got from SGH to slip over the knob in the summer. Made the mistake of grabbing it bare handed last in after standing in blistering heat all day ...no bueno. Suprised I didn't get a 5speed cross imprint on my palm.

so yes. the Skunk2 knob gets hot as balls. Wandering if anybody makes a megnesium knob.

Well the SSK willbe here tuesday and MonsterKnobs emailed me and said they are vacation and it won't ship out until the end of next week WTF

I like spherical shift knobs but I also like having the shift pattern on the shift knob because I'm a snobby 6MT owner.  I would buy the honda factory shift knob but I think they're still too expensive even with my discount...

Yeah me too I would love to get a leather TL shift knob becaus I think they look awesome and then I would have to do a tsx tranny swap to go with the shift knob

I broke down and ordered a 2008 s2000 CR accessory shift knob while I was at work yesterday.  I also had an interesting conversation with the parts dept manager over at honda because I had to explain why I'm a shift knob whore and why I wouldn't settle for any of the OE shift knobs Acura sells.  Now I'm faced with a dilemma.  This shift knob will probably sit high on my shift lever and I'm going to want it shorter....so I'm going to have to cut out a section of the lever and have the top portion welded on...

The mugen sport shift assembly touts that the shift lever height is reduced about an inch....but it still sits mad high...I solved this problem by using a greddy shift knob that naturally sits lower since the threads go all the way to the top of the knob...I won't have that same height with the S2K knob so I'm going to have to modify the shift lever.....totally did not want to do that....

hey skip. if u ever end up cutting the shifter. can u make a diy on it. ive wanted to cut mine for some time now... but dont kno how to do it... thread size... etc

damn dude i wouldn't cut the SSK for the lower knob height. i like where my stock knob sits now...not too high or low. what greddy knob did you have skip?
