Grr I hate when I am at the ass end of a cop's boredom.

So I was driving to freakin Taco Bell just now and got pulled over. Not for speeding, not for wreckless driving or running a red light. No my friends I got pulled over simply because some cop (who I now believe is my girlfriend's neighbor) decided my tint was too dark and my music was too loud. In reality my music could have been WAY louder. Volume was at about 35 out of 62, and it's Florida, who doesn't have 15% tint? (or 10% as the meter read it)
Seriously I like cops like Heckler that don't waste the time of law abiding citizens. Is this guy a rookie or what? Seriously? A tint ticket in Florida? Like I said nearly everybody down here has front windows that are a lil darker than they should be. I'm just glad he didn't try to search my car or some dumb shit and prevent me from eating a damn cheesy gordita crunch. I've been pulled over before and they've never said shit about my tint, and I'm talking in places notorious for cops with nothing to do.
To the officers out there that actually care about the well being of our world and don't get the bitch jobs of hassling innocent people, I thank you.

Well man it sucks to say this, but FL tint law says that the fronts must allow more than 28% of light in and the rears must allow more than 15% of light in. So some may let it slide until boredem kicks in....that's when they come for you. It makes me wonder if 20% tint is even acceptable.

cheezy gorditas are the shit. bored cops are not.
i got pulled over on the 4th of july (at 8am, so it wasnt even like a "check to make sure he's not drunk" stop) for a tint check. my sides are 35% (legal) but my back window is 20% (not). thankfully he only had the unit that only checks the side windows and before he checked them he asked me if i knew what % they were. i said they were legal - 35. he checks them and then says "actually no - they're 38%". what a dildo.

Lol When the cop was checking my tint he got all pissed and walked away after he put the tint meter up to my window. Obviously curious I said "Wait, what did it say?" He blurted out "TEN" like I had killed a cop or something.
I'm not going to get my tint redone. I think after nearly a year of living down here if this is the first ticket I got then I will just make sure I roll my windows down at night like Rolo or keep my music down. Or just not drive at night.
I forgot about this gem -- the cop tried to tell me he could arrest me for not having the correct address on my license.
Now, the address on my license is my parent's house. That is where my clothes are and that's where I shower every day, and that's where I get mail from school and everything. Last night I was coming from my girlfriends house (in West Melbourne, my parents live in Grant) and the cop said I had to change the address on my license if I wanted to stay at my girlfriends. Like dude, I don't own her house I don't pay her mortgage and she's in the process of selling her house no I don't need to change my address are you kidding me? That's when he said he could
arrest me because they could then "assume" that I would not show up to court or pay my fine because I lived in a different county.
(Fucking retard cop, Grant and West Melbourne are BOTH in Brevard county. Then proceeded to try to tell me I live in Indian River county. Fucking guy learn your counties...

Isn't it sad when you have to wish there were more drug dealers and gunslingers around so you wouldn't get hassled?

That's a bummer to hear man. It sucks when police try and get you for every little thing. I usually try to make sure I'm not breaking the law in any way, but I'm sure a police officer could nail me for all kinds of crap if he wanted to. Sucks to hear the guy that pulled you over had nothing better to do, but be careful when blaring music. With those 15"s you have, it's going to be louder outside your car than inside your car. It may not seem to be too loud to you, but the car in front of you might be getting an earfull. It's possible that the cop pulled you over because of the noise, but wanted to up the ante by giving you a tint ticket too. The shitty part is that if you're breaking the law, they can ticket you for it. Regardless of what everyone else is doing, it doesn't mean that you're an exception and shouldn't be ticketed for breaking the law. You may not like it, but unfortunately, it's the way the world works.

Yeah, just had to vent. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have pulled me over if my music was down, but then again it wasn't all the way up. I just need some more Dynamat i guess lol. I plan on keeping my tints though and only booming on the highway...
Could always be worse though like Piero said. I'm sure he could have ticketed me for a white reflector or something stupid.
Funny part is I didn't even get pulled over in Pennsylvania for my tints when I went up there in December and they have real strict tint laws...

Well, not comparing Cape Coral to Camden, NJ, but the cops here are a little more sensible about what they do with their time. Speeding is a big no no though. My radar is constantly going off in my vicinity.

I dont think you would get pulled over for that if you was in PA cuz their tint law dont apply to you since your out of state. You would get stopped for anything else like lights (remember megameet), speeding and whatever else they feel like.

But he's from Philly. He must have still had PA plates at the time because it was before he moved to FL.

Melbourne Police Department Responded to EIGHT homicide cases in 2008 5 more than in 2007. Now in Philadelphia there was 309 but they have a far more expansive police force. An increase of 5 murders in one year in a town like Melbourne, FL makes me think cops should have something better to do than pull people over for tints. Especially in a town that is the half-way point for the Miami-Jacksonville drug trade. Come on. They don't even display the number of drug arrests that take place because they probably can't keep count or think it will tarnish the name of the town.

And no my parents lived in FL before I moved down here so my car always had a FL plate because the car is registered to my mom's name (for insurance purposes) and my parents' primary residence is down here. My car was bought down here by my sister and then sold to me and has never seen a full winter (i first drove it up from FL in Jan 08). I visited for 3 weeks the next winter (which just past). I guess I didn't think about the PA tint laws not applying, but if they're still illegal in FL then maybe they could lol
I did, however, have a PA license until I moved down here.
