you spent $155.4 million in 2007, nto to far of the 201 Million we spent in 2009.  adjusted for inflation, we spent 20% more than you, HUGE difference.

You guys are alwasy int he payroll race with us and the mets.  Additionally, the guys getting piad the big money, actually produced for once.  


Rolo and any other Yankees fans, Mike is miserable cuase the sox lost this year and the Yankees won the World Series, but as a baseball fan hes as knowledgable as anyone i've met.  Just for the record Mike, the Phillies 98 million payroll beat the Rays 44 million payroll in 2008 , at 223% of the Rays salaries.  By comparions the Yankees 201 million beat the Phillies 113 million payroll, at 178% the Phillies Salary, so who, in fact, bought their World Series more.  Also what was the Colorado Rockies payroll in 2007?  oh about $44 million...so you guys had a payroll gap of $111 million dollars and 353% of the Rockies salary.  Ours this year was an 88 million gap.  

Hey don't bring up buying stuff if you can't handle the facts.

And if the Red Sox were willing to spend a slight bit more they'd have Teixeira and/or Rodriguez in their uniform.  But you guys will spend $51.1 million to TALK to a pitcher...and thats not overspending?  c'mon dude, your arguements aren't flying here..

What did your team spend to talk to/ sign kei igiawa? I'm not miserable and i'm the first person to say that my team is guilty of over spending to. I don't gripe about it as a Sox fan but, as a fan of the game in general. There are 20 - 25 teams that don't have a chance from day one, and to me that makes things less enjoyable. Also, I don't think your stat on sox 2007 payroll is correct I have it as $143,026,214. I said congratulations, and your team played well but, you have to admit that you have an advantage going into every season for the last 11 years.

yeah I mean don't that top 7-8 teams year in and year out, regardless of the 2004 Sox Payroll, it was still considerable...and the Yanekes dropped almost 20 million in spedning from last year, which was $218 million.  I agree it sorta takes some of the guessing out of it.  but EVERY year a smaller market team makes a run, and a lot of times makes it to the World Series (Rockies 2007, Rays 2008)  So its not impossible to win with a small payroll, and especiallyw hen my team is knocked out, I really pull for that underdog team.  This year the two teams that should have made it, did, and the better team won.

Now we are speaking the same. The issue is that these teams have no chance to maintain a good team because as soon as the Yanks, Sox, Mets, Phillies, etc. see that they have talent they are going to swoop in and offer half of the current teams payroll to aquire the player.

All 3 games came down to the very last play.  Had those three plays of gone differently, we would be undefeated right now.  My main concern is our defense.  They look absolutely HORRIBLE.  Especially our CBs.  I never EVER thought I'd say this, but I'm missing Rolle and McCallister right now.... The only person playing on the level the should be is good old reliable Ray. If our defense was even HALF as good as it was last year, I have no doubt we would be undefeated with the way our offense is putting up points.  Hopefully they get their shit together this week during the bye.  If not, it's going to be a veryyyy long season.

PS. Brady still blows!  He did a good job picking on one of the worst pass defenses in the league.  Big deal.

Dont worry Ike, I know how you feel. Team starts off the season like a ball of fire and steadily start to crumble. At least you guys lost to a respectable team though. We fucking lost to the fuckin Titans at home!
