True. I plan on picking up a spare block anyway before I boost. I may just boost current motor while working on the spare. Anyway, I derailed the thread a bit.

Dave, your car needs some love under the hood since you've hit the bolt on cap. I've got ideas as well as everyone else that's chimed in but ultimately it falls on you to decide what's going to happen next.

Yep.  But boost will reduce the life of ANY engine, be in higher mileage or not.  Mine's still under 80k.  Then, if I swap to a MT, I'm assuming I'd need a MT ECU to go with it.  As far as K-Pro, to be honest, I'd rather have one that allows for the dual ecu harness option, unless my other choice was a good deal money wise.

^ I think Alex still has an AT ECU after his 5spd MT Swap.

You don't need a MT ECU actually.  If you were considering KPro, there is an option that you can use the KPro ECU without the dual ECU harness, and it would work out to being about the same price if not a little bit cheaper than running the dual ECU set up (considering everything you need to get to have it work properly).

Nope.  I wasn't doing a build, was just getting ideas from others as I'm stuck with mod upgrade ideas.

Ouch. I can imagine the shipping to you being absurd.

Likme everyone else has said, the next best mod is tuning capability, preferably KPro. Now for your AT I would also suggest a nice beefy B&M external cooler and start re-training yourself to lift off the gas when the transmission is up shifting to the next gear, this is when your trans is most vulnarable to damage from extra power that future FI or other internal mods would cause. Now as far as FI, pushing 5-6psi from a SC would give you goos reliability (with tuning) and some nice added power,as other have said another nice route would be a K24A2 swap, the internals as sooo much stronger.

i just installed a Long Tru-Cool tranny cooler (Part #4451) last week in time for track day. i noticed the cooler gets really hot pretty quick. now i FEEL i did my tranny a huge favor.  Cheesy

i don't plan on doing FI, i just need a wee bit more power (i reckon about 10more hp) so i can finish on the podium in my bracket. (i'm about 1.8 secs off on a 2.06" lap time)
