For Tein SS, I know they don't have the tophats and you need to swap them from your stock suspension.

Can I buy OEM tophats ("spares" I guess) and install those on the Tein SS so I don't have to deal with spring compressors when I switch back to stock suspension in the winter.

I would think I can. If it is possible, which parts would I need using the pictures below?

FRONT

REAR

Thanks for answering noob questions.

I just looked up the parts to replace the whole assembly, and was wondering why one side is more expensive than the other?  and that's also for the shocks/springs...

They're only different from front to back.  The rear assemblies are larger, so the price is probably different based on that..

Very weird. Don't buy OEM struts. They are overly priced. You can get aftermarket struts that are better for way cheaper.

As for the top hats, you can actually get aftermarket top hats from Moog for a lot cheaper then the OEM ones.

haha, that's how I am justifying getting a new suspension to my wife!  just the rear assemblies are more expensive than an entire supercup kit!
