Really frustrated now, I called the electric company, and we can't do anything. It all rest on the seller completing some work. Still don't have power. Maybe we could get generators to run the whole house! The seller is ignoring our calls, emails, and texts, he's probably drinking a cocktail on an island for all we know.

I'd definitely talk to the realtor first, then a lawyer.

Lol. It wasn't order specific. Either way...living with no electricity for a week is cruel and unnecessary.

Finally heard back from the seller. He says the power company wants us to have an exterior shut off valve, they're charging the seller 1100 to install this. This exterior valve is what the burglars shut off during the Mont Vernon home invasion. We don't want anyone to have access to our power. The seller is fighting it, that's what's taking so long.

Most alarms get their power from the telephone line instead of the electric lines in the event that you do lose power, the alarm is still functioning. To me that sounds more like a case where the seller doesn't want to lose $1,100 by upgrading a house that he no longer owns rather than trying to fight to do you a favor. Regardless of his argument, you've been without power for quite some time. I would be irate and have them connect the power while they figure shit out. Of course the seller doesn't care, he has power at his house.

I installed alarms for a few years and most of the modern stuff requires a plug or batteries because the phone line doesn't have enough power for the key pad / display.

The electrical company is a small company, that only services certain sections of the state. I miss PSNH already.

About to kick the seller's ass!!!!!!
I told you. He doesn't care, he's got his money and he isn't living there. Threaten with a lawyer. I would at a minimum send him a certified letter in the mail formally requesting that he move his ass with your no electricity issue.

Going to meet the seller now, he's going to give us a check to get the work done. Finally this is going to end.
