A house with a 4 car garage for less than 300,000$ is amazing. I need to move bad!
That's like a down payment for a small 2 bedroom house here.

Hell yeah it is. And with just over 3100 sq. ft. of finished living space. That same thing in Miami would have been well over 600k.

I would agree with you guys. Having that kind of housing prices would be fantastic. But I do like where I live; so Nelson, I'd have to disagree with "I need to move bad!"
I'm kindof picky about what I want in a house. I have taken a look here and there, but the price for a house that fits the want list is at a price point where I couldn't swallow.

I'm hoping that eventually we will start looking for a house. Right now, we're just trying to save as much of a down payment as possible. I'm willing to wait for the house that I want, instead of settling for something smaller or doesn't have the features I want.

Look into first time home buyer programs in your area Tim. I was surprised at all the options. We are going to the inspection wed. Hoping all goes well but my luck says otherwise.

The main thing is that I know about how much the kind of house I want will cost in my area, and we're nowhere near being ready to afford something like that right now. Like I said, we're saving up for a big down payment. I'd like to be able to save as much as possible before we buy.
