You've already heard my suggestion Ryan.

When I buy a house, it will have a mancave/garage. Basically a comfy garage with couches, a home theater, big TV, refrigerator and something to wrench on.

Ooh It's all open! Make it a garage and put a man cave so you can hang out with your car lol

I'm not gonna lie it was discussed.  I pictured myself on my couch, watching tv, and having my car parked 18 inches behind me.

But I decided I want a pool table instead.

Congrats Ryan! How long ago did they accept your offer?

We're actually going to look at one across the street from the last one tomorrow.  It was put back on the market this past Monday. Seems like a better deal to bank owned so we'll see.

The offer was accepted back in November or December, but we had to wait until now so we could get the grant money (down payment and closing cost assistance).  They had given all the money out for 2014.  We were the 1st or 2nd buyers to receive the grant in 2015.

It's kind of illegal to not have walks around your garage. You need to have a fire barrier between the rest if the house and the garage.

Congrats Ryan. That's great news.

House used to have a garage in the basement.  House next door is the same layout and still does have it as a garage.  But both were just being used for storage, so I'm sure that's fine.

Looks good Ryan. I would hope you love it being that you're committed to it for the next 30yrs lol.

So we went and saw the one across the street and tho its not as updated as the last, it actually had a lot more to offer. All these houses have the same general floor plan but this one made better use of the layout and it roomier. It's also around $20k less so we may mortgage a little more to do some updates. The seller pretty much accepted the offer and will sign the contact Monday. Then we have to wait for the bank to accept it, get a lawyer and inspection. Fingers crossed again lol.

The saga continues, So after 5+ weeks of waiting on the bank to respond to our offer, they came back with a counter offer and said that there policy is only to offer 3% seller credit. So now we have to counter and then come up with the other 3% to cover closing.
