This vehicle was a recent purchase by its owner and the goal was to get it back to like new/perfect condition. When the car arrived, we discovered it's poorly installed clear bra and the owner had decided he wanted it removed prior to arrival. The GTR has a significantly harder clear coat than most production Nissans, making it more resistant to marring/swirling. With that said, the paint was not in desperate shape, but had its fair share of defects. So we went top to bottom with this car to make it better than new. The white pearl color really sets the new GT-R off!

Process: car was degreased with P21S TAW, washed with CG citrus wash. once it was off, did test panel and decided it needed wool pad to get rid of all defects. whole car was done with wool pad and menz 203, then followed with menz 203 and orange pad and finished with menz 106 and white pad. then p21s paint cleanser. wet diamond sealant was applied and left overnight to cure. took it off in morning. rinsed the car and applied Wolfgang Fuzion wax. wheels and brake calipers were sealed with Rejex. Tires were dressed, inside received quick vacuum since it was in great shape. wing was not removed due to double sided tape on most of 3 mounting points, didn’t want to break it either.

products used:
Menzerna 203 - Purple wool
Menzerna 203 - Orange
Menzerna 106FA - White
P21S TAW
P21S Polishing soap
P21S paint cleanser
CG Diablo wheel gel
CG Metal Wax
Rejex
Black Fire Wet diamond sealant
Wolfgang Fuzion wax
im sure i am forgetting others

as car arrived:

poor quality clear bra was taken off per owners request (took 20 minutes, didn’t even need heat gun, it pealed right off with minimal effort). Worth installation quality we have seen, but at least no visible razor cuts

car was then taped off

Paint Defects found under halogens( pics were taken after menz 203 and wool pad before all finishing polishes)

Paint in direct sunlight

after wax was applied (nice reflection even on white pearl)

Finished Photos Inside - Mix of Reflection photos as well

Finished Photos Outside - I had the Circular Polarizer on the camera outside, simply due to the glare of the sun off the white paint was making the pictures very bright. Polarizer helped but definitely cut down on the gloss of the paint in the photos.

pictures without CP filter

attempt with HDR pics (didn’t work too well inside)

Hope you enjoyed this as much as we have! The white pearl paint really completes this car!

wow that car is is really starting to grow on me. I wonder how the owners feel after you present them with their car

P.s. the photo shot of the rear with the GTR logo is very beautiful. Would be a Very Nice Background

tail pipes were first cleaned with p21s total autowash. then cleaned with p21s polishing soap then p21s finish restorer, after i put mothers powerfall mini on drill and used chemical guys metal wax to get the shine like that. last step made about 50% of difference so powerball mini is great tool
