So I have lost it... I know exactly how Tim feels right now. I have finally lost "it". "It" is really hard to describe. The easiest way to attempt to explain is that when you get in to this line of work, your heart is in it. You never go into it just to have a job, if that was the case, you'd settle for mcfuckingdonalds... I am so sick of this shit, My average day is 6-7 calls. the average call load of the people I work with is 3 on a fucking busy day to my slow day. what is even worse is the Supervisors know exactly what bullshit they are pulling and refuse to do anything about it because they are black. For the record, it is not a racist comment it is the truth. They go to each others calls just to pad their activity logs(we have to do them every day). Not only that, but they will write down other peoples calls on their log and claim it and claim that they wrote tickets on accidents and fucking not even show up... Imagine if you guys worked your ass off to the point where you work so hard you LOSE sleep over it and they skate by without doing anything and get to take credit for YOUR work and they did not contribute to it. That is a daily occurrence... I realized a long time ago, that I was in fact not going to change the world. My dad told me something that I did not believe when I started this job. "Don't try to save the world, you can only save yourself", He was fucking right. I am sick of trying to help people who dont give a shit, why bother? On top of that, If I do my job like I am supposed to, I get complained on by citizens. It is not my fault you are too fucking lazy to park an extra 15 feet away from the door to unload your damn laundry at the washeteria... the fact that they complain is not the problem, If I am not getting complained on then I am not doing my job. the problem is that they do not just brush these complaints off, they build them up and sit you down and fucking council you over them... They are a fucking wothless piece of shit who block fire lanes and park in handicap spaces when they do not need or deserve it, it is just fucking laziness, why fucking not punish them? Instead, lets punish the guy who did his fucking job... On top of my now blatant disregard for the general public, I am highly pissed at my coworkers(in my unit) as a whole with the exception of 3. With the exception of 3 is: my mother, Sharon(who works with my mother), and Suzette(who has cancer and was not working with us). When these storms hit, we were sent to Apison, TN which borders Ringgold, GA. I had countless peole complain to me that "the black lady down there" cussed them and was rude and disrespectful. Seriously? these people are left with nothing, their homes and lives completely swept off hte face of the earth, and you are going to cuss them? I do understand that all of the ones that were complained on and partook in the soon to be mentioned acts are African american. Again, not racist, Apison is out in the sticks, I can understand that they feel a little bit threatened by that which they do not understand. At the command post, victims of the storms could come get food, the same food we were given as nourishment to our working bodies. There were a few of my coworkers that I am in complete disgust of. This food is mostly for those who have NOTHING, not for you to take EIGHT PLATES OF FOOD and put it in your personal car to take home to your family who still has a home and electricity... That is just selfish, and Fucking absurd. On top of that, Those of us actually WORKING could not take a single break to use the restroom, because the relief car was on their post while they sat at the command post for 2 hours on their fat asses and stuffed their faces and just sat around talking. I mean, yeah, I do not like standing in the baking hot sun for 10 hours, but it is my job and I am proudly serving a community that has been devastated by storms. I am just over it. I was told today that if I put my application in for police officer with Chattanooga again that I would have no problem with anything, getting in or getting thru the academy. Really, I dont want it. I would rather fork over the money to quit my job and send myself thru a public certified academy that all the other agencies use, than deal with the BS politics of this department. They didnt want me when my heart was in it, Why should I care if they want me now?
