Z, where in NC? I've worked on the coast gaurd base just over the border between NC and VA before.  helped install some security cameras and other miscellaneous audio/video equipment bout 5 years ago.  I havne't been on here in awhile, and I read that you were being shipped out, I'm reallysorry to hear that bro, but thank you for serving our country.

I'm trying to decide what to do with my computer situation. I get $1000 to go towards a computer when I graduate high school. I currently have a 10 month old HP with 4gb of ram, 250gb hard drive, and a 2.00ghz processor running Windows 7 Ultimate. Basically I can pocket the $1000 if I dont get a new computer. Im trying to decide if this computer will be sufficient. It surpasses my majors requirement, but will it be enough.. I'm thinking if I get a new one it will be a 15" Macbook Pro. I think when I get my 13" pro for school in a few weeks it will be a good indication of whether or not I want to go mac. I have never heard anyone complain about one that they have. So, should I keep my current one and pocket the $1000 or replace it and what with? If I get a PC I definitely want the 14.1" screen. If I get a macbook it will be a 15". Obviously if I go mac I will have to make up the difference.

Bill, buy whatever upgrades you can for your computer and keep it.  Max out the ram, get an external HD and store the majority of your crap on there so it doesn't take up room on your computer.  

we were going to get a new computer, but I like mine, and decided to just fix it up...mine is 4 years old!  10 months is basically new in my eyes...

Keep the cash for beers!
