ATTENTION EAST COAST MEMBERS -CanAm Cruise 2010 June 4th-6th

On behalf of 6thgenaccord.com and the Toronto Accord Club, I would like to formally invite EliteCM.net to the Annual CanAm cruise in Niagara Canada!

This will be posted on numerous sites to get as many people to come as possible, and we hope some of you can make it!

Tentative Dates are Friday June 4th to the 6th.

The main purpose of this thread is the following:

~See who is going and where people are coming from
~Post hotels and rates to organize room sharing if desired
~Organize meeting spots for caravans
~Organize a spot for all of us to meet before we cross the border

Kevin (Goldnknight22) and myself are working with Derek and a couple other members of TAC to get this all organized. As soon as I get more info on the different events for the weekend they will be posted here. Expect a full weekend of cars, meets, cruising and eating!!

Some of the events we will be planning are:

Cruise for the Cause to benefit the Cancer Society
Cruise through the Niagra Region
Car Show with possible media coverage
Meet and greet at a local park with a barbeque

For those of you coming from the US, our entry point into Canada will be the Rainbow Bridge in Niagra, NY. I will find a good meeting spot for all of us before we cross as soon as I can. Tentative meet time will be between 5:00pm and 6:00pm EST on Friday, June 4th.

IMPORTANT: If you don't have a passport, it would be a good idea to get a US Passport Card. The cards cost $40, and there is about a three week turn around time on the cards. The card will allow you to cross Canadian and Mexican borders by land only. You can have your picture taken and fill out the application at your local post office.

Caravan Info:

New England Mass Pike/NY State Thruway Caravan:

Point B) Charlton Service Area, Mass Pike West, just outside Worcester: People coming from NH, ME and MA points east of Worcester will meet here at 7:30am. This will be a 30 minute stop, we will be leaving this stop at 8:00am SHARP.

Point C) Lee, MA Service Area, Mass Pike West in Lee, MA: People coming from RI, CT, VT and MA points between Charlton, MA and Lee, MA will meet here at 9:30 am. This will be a 30 minute stop, we will be leaving here at 10am SHARP.

Point D) Patterson, NY Service Area, NY State Thruway Patterson, NY just outside Albany: This is where the New England Caravan will converge with the NYC Caravan. Meeting time will be 11:00am. This will be a 30 minute stop, we will be leaving here at 11:30am

Point E) Fallside Hotel and Conference Center, 401 Buffalo Ave, Niagara Falls, NY 14303: This is the final stop before we cross the Rainbow Bridge into Canada. This is where we will be meeting other people coming from the US. Meeting time will be 6:00pm. This will be a one hour stop. We will be leaving to cross the bridge at 7pm.

NYC Caravan:

B) Patterson, NY Service Area, NY State Thruway Patterson, NY just outside Albany: This is where the NYC Caravan will converge with the New England Caravan. Meeting time will be 11:00am. This will be a 30 minute stop, we will be leaving here at 11:30am

C) Fallside Hotel and Conference Center, 401 Buffalo Ave, Niagara Falls, NY 14303: This is the final stop before we cross the Rainbow Bridge into Canada. This is where we will be meeting other people coming from the US. Meeting time will be 6:00pm. This will be a one hour stop. We will be leaving to cross the bridge at 7pm.

A few notes:

~The time it takes to get from the Patterson, NY stop to the Fallside Hotel is only 4hrs and 30min, however I have added in additional time for a lunch stop, gas stops, piss breaks and shenanigans.

~Kevin and I will be choosing two caravan leaders for the people coming from NY. It will be the job of those people to keep in contact with Kevin and myself should you fall behind or have any issues. It will also be the duty of these people to make sure they have contact info for every one in their caravan and vice versa.

~While I love shenanigans, and I'm sure you do too, lets PLEASE be safe. Lead cars will have radar detectors but the NY State Thruway is NOT someplace you want to get stopped for speeding. IF someone DOES get stopped for one reason or another, the whole group is to pull over safely, out of the way and wait for the person(s). Also, please keep a safe distance between you and the car in front of you. To many times have I seen people almost run into one another in caravans becasue someone is following too closely.
