Original DIY written by Sam (mnkyman)

Heres my results:

Ok lets start!

1. Get your materials and tools

first of all, you will need to order some LEDS
LED SERIAL NUMBERS
Map light: DE3175 / 3022
Dome light: DE3175 / 3022
Step/Courtesy light: 168/T15
All from Sylvania

either from ebay:
http://myworld.ebay.com/motoringmax
or search and you'll find another buyer, but i bought from this one
Offers blue, red, super bright white, and others by request

OR

http://www.tec-toyz.com
I haven't bought from them, but others have and its the same thing
Offers Blue, White, UV Blacklight, Red, Green, and Amber

Tools you will need:
a small Flat-head Screwdriver like this:

Manuals that might help (but my DIY is good enough):
http://www.theorange-media.com/honda/li ... onroof.pdf
http://www.theorange-media.com/honda/li ... cement.pdf
http://www.theorange-media.com/honda/li ... _light.pdf

2. Lets replace the door lights
Put the screw driver behind these two points and pry the case off

pull out the bulb and replace with LED, if it doesnt turn on, flip the LED

Replace the cover by putting the bottom in first and pushing on the pins at the top to pop back in

3. Lets replace the dome light

This step will be easier to do from the back seat

Put the screw driver behind these two points and pry the case off

pull out the bulb and replace with LED, if LED doesn't turn on, flip it around
WARNING: THESE BULBS GET HOT, so before you change it out to the LED, let it sit and cool for a couple minutes if you had it on

Replace case in reverse order that you took out (part closes to you goes in first, and then pop in the pins on the farthest side)

4. Lets replace the map lights
These are a little harder but its basically the same process

note: it won't be beneficial to unscrew the whole roof unit from the screws inside the flip down sunglass holder, because there are screws behind the map lights holding up the unit

Put the screw driver behind these four points and pry the case off

It will be a little harder to pull these out because the pins also have hooks on them

just play around with it a little and it will come loose

you will want to take off the other case at this time as it will be easier by prying from here:

pull out the bulbs and replace with LEDs, if LEDs don't turn on, flip them around
WARNING: THESE BULBS GET HOT, so before you change it out to the LED, let it sit and cool for a couple minutes if you had it on

replace the covers by pushing them back in and just letting the pins pop back into place

5. Admire Your Work

Hey Thien the only thing I would add is the setting the dome and map lights need to be on in order for them to go out. Because if you leave them on one particular setting they'll just apppear dim when driving.  I would say which settin it needs to be but it's been a longgg time since we did ours and it's too cold to run outside. LOL!!! If nobody replies in the next hour or so I'll go ahead and check.

Just checked and we've got both of ours on the door setting. I think anything other than that will keep them dimmed instead of off when driving.

Turn the switch for your map lights to the Door position. I had the same problem, so just leave it in the Door position instead of Off and you'll be fine.

Well that will just mean when the doors open the map lights will go on. He probably has to click the actual clear lens part once to turn the light off!

no, I'm having the same problem he is.. there's current still going to the lights when the doors are closed.  it's very dim though.  I haven't had a chance to take mine out and re-install them yet so I'll try that at some point.

Oh, well I don't think those LED's draw a heck of a lot of power, but it'd be something to look into.

Hey Folks, since the original creation of this DIY, my dome LED bulb burnt out. I'm looking to replace it with the newer LED panels for more light. Just wondering if anyone has experience with these from a particular ebay seller you'd recommend?

For reference I'm looking for something like this, preferably the biggest one that will fit in the dome light: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2PCS-WHITE-LED-INTERIOR-DOME-MAP-LIGHT-BULB-36-SMD-LED-PANEL-XENON-HID-LAMP-/301011045735?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4615a80d67&vxp=mtr

If anyone was wondering, I ended up buying this: http://www.eGay.com/itm/271225961196?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
Perfect fit in our dome light and nice and bright

Edit: also, apparently this forum now has a filter that turns "e Bay" to "eGay"...not sure why. You can get to the above link by changing to G to a B
