One of the conversations I had with Paul a while back is that if seafoam loosens up the carbon deposits in your combustion chamber, it will blow it out and clog up your cat. If you maintain your vehicle with regular oil changes, you really shouldn't need to use anything like seafoam.

Is there a way I can check to see of the cat is clogged without taking it off? the previous owner and I always filled w/ premium fuel, not sure if that made a reason why no smoke came out at all when I srafoamed yesterday.... I smelled the chemical. Still no increase in gas mileage. 93.7 miles into the tank and I'm 3notches above half a tank

I would venture to say you have a fuel leak somewhere. It's not common on our cars but, you may want to visually inspect your tank, filler neck, and fuel lines. If your car is running right and you have no CEL's and MPG has dipped that much the gas is going some where.

Yeah, it could be a fuel leak. Another answer could be that something is causing it to run rich. I know that a lot of times when you get a CEL for certain codes and it goes into "safe" mode, it basically keeps you out of VTEC and keeps VTC at 0º and just dumps fuel. I'm not sure if you've tried an ECU reset, but it may be worth your while. Another thing is the short trips.

I would venture to guess there would be no blowing in limp mode. Wouldn't know first hand though.

That wouldn't cause your mileage to drop that much.

did the tb cleaner today, it was pretty clean from the seafoam i did last week..i used about half a rag to clean lol, and it came out mostly clean.
I took a drive to austin on saturday.. i went 93.8 miles and i still have over 3/4 of a tank, (long straight drive), when i drove around the city at 1/2 tank i was at 118. -.- so highway mpg is fanfuckingtabulis , but city mpg is more horrible than 2 girls 1 cup...

Chris I think you jinxed me... I only got 300 on this tank before the light came on... usually I'm at around 330-350 before it comes on... I wouldn't think the roof rack would make the difference that much, but oh well "Santa" is getting me a Thule Fairing for xmas.
So maybe thatll help. Or maybe I just got a bad batch of gas. Oh well.
