We didn't remove it.  We just took it out to install the LSD.

Here are the pics from today.  There is a whole bunch missing in the middle of the day because our friend Keith came over and took a bunch of pics with his camera while we were working.  If I had the correct length belt, it would be running right now.

Cham is so asian, he doesn't need air to operate pneumatic tools...

Good morning, boys!

Last night we finished major work on the swap and we're almost ready to start the motor.  I performed the valve adjustment yesterday morning before we hoisted the motor with the engine crane.  After Dom and I drove around for an hour trying to find a harmonic dampener tool, we were able to get the crank pulley off of the TSX motor and remove Tim's UR crank pulley to swap over.  Once the motor mounts were engaged we basically split up to cover more ground and that explains the lack of pictures for some of what we did.  As it sits, the motor has oil, the tranny is filled, the radiator has been pre-filled, and we're waiting on a properly sized belt to fill the P/S reservoir.  After that, it's time to prime the fuel system and begin the nerve-wracking 5 minute starting procedure.  It's always scary for me, especially when a LOT of work went into preparation and we were poking around in the head installing the new camshafts.

I will say that the motor Tim got was MINT.  So mint in fact, that I've never seen one so new.  The valves were still shiny, the head was glistening when we removed the valve cover, and the camshafts just began to show wear on the lobes...

Tim and Dom are out plowing the driveway since we did get a bit of snow last night.  After they are done, we're going to the store to pick up Timmy's belts and then it's time to crank and pray.  Updates will be posted as soon as they are available.

For a minute, I thought Skippy and Dom were twins, till you labeled who was who. Looks like Timmy is getting what he always wanted in time for Xmas.

Here's the update.  After digging out Dom's truck and his wife's car from 12"-18" of snow and clearing his entire driveway (Dom did almost all the work with his snow blower), we went to the store to pick up the much needed belts.  We got back and were ultimately plagued with the car not starting due to a bad MAP sensor.  It took us almost all day to diagnose the problem.  After figuring out the problem at the end of the day Cham went home and Skippy hit the sack.  I decided to stay up late to put more of the engine bay back together.  The list of left over stuff to do is:

- tighten header bolts
- reinstall the splash guards
- run the motor to check for leaks
- top off the coolant
- top off the power steering fluid
- reinstall the front bumper
- reinstall the hood
- street tune

I want to use this opportunity to express my gratitude for the hard work done by my friends Skippy, Cham, and Dominic.  If it wasn't for their help and support, this would have never happened.  I appreciate all the work that Skippy has done to pull the old motor and make sure the new motor went in properly without too much of a problem.  I want to thank Cham for sourcing all the parts and providing a practically brand new motor, LSD, and lots of other much needed parts, in addition to taking time out of his extremely busy schedule to come do the LSD installation, assist with swapping the cams, and diagnose the problem we had today.  I'd like to thank Dominic for providing his home and his garage so we could have a place to do the work, in addition to helping do a lot of the work and spending time away from his wife to help us.  I'd like to also thank Keith for showing up to take pictures and lend a much needed hand, and to Steve for also showing up with a much needed (but easily destroyed) tool, spare parts in case the tool we destroyed didn't work, and lending a helping hand when it was needed.  I'd also like to thank Dominic's wife for putting up with me and Skippy stealing her husband away, invading her home, and making her garage smell.  Finally, I'd like to also thank my wonderful fiance Robyn for dealing with all my bullshit, picking up parts for me, and having to spend time apart while I'm away from home working on my car.  Thank you to everyone who supported me and helped make this happen.

For the record, only Skippy is allowed to call me that.  Nobody else is able to call me that under any circumstances.  I just got back from driving Skippy home to NJ and meeting up with Cham to give him some parts.  I'm fucking beat.  I can say, the drive was enjoyable having some more power.  We started with my old SC tune, but switched to a pre-existing Hondata tune that they made for this exact same set up with a JRSC M62.  It made a very noticeable difference when the tune was uploaded.  I have to change my belt for something a little smaller since my belt is slipping at about 4500-6000 RPM from the belt being a little too big.  Then Cham and I can tweak my tune so I can hit my 7800 RPM redline.  I still have to install my RC 750 cc injectors and modify my auto tensioner/power steering pump bracket to fit my Skunk2 fuel rail.  After I hit 1000 miles, I also need to change my oil and tranny fluid.
