finaly got my test kit. have to change oil now and send sample for testing to oil Analyzers
gona wait till it hits 9 or 10k
so we will see how good this amsoil is
amsoil 0W-30 full synthetic
amsoil ea full synthetic filter
they claim can be used for 25000miles under normal driving condition and 15000 under sever

ill keep you guys posted

after i gave them info they send me report with updated info
overall severity of report shifted to #3 becouse of molybdenum is 22 and aperently there is none in synthetil oil so its leftovers from non syntetic oil.  and TDN was too high? dont know they said that that 3.10 number is abnormal. probably couse of milage. so ill be changing it after 5000k now.

I'm anxious to see the results. I haven't even started using synthetic oil yet.

Sounds good man.  I've always wanted to do a used oil analysis.  I think I may look into that soon to see what's wrong with my motor.

I've done a few.  Amsoil's UOA on my K24 proved that 0w20 Mobil 1 is still superior.  I could get more mileage out of the Amsoil but it's not worth the money.  Pennzoil Platinum, on the other hand...which I would have switched too if I could find it in 0w20 consistently, is a little cheaper than M1 and provides wear numbers that are less than 0.04% worse than M1.  It's barely measureable.

Amsoil kicked the crap out of Royal Purple which did worse than the motorcraft oil in my ancient s10 blazer with a v8 in it and nearly 300k miles.  Royal Purple SUCKS!

0w20 is probably mobil 1's best oil.  Their 5w30 is probably their worst.  It's also the one that a couple of oil companies are comparing thier oil to when they say their oil has 4x or 8x better wear than mobil1.  I ran Penzoil Platinum 0w20 in my car for quite a while when i was driving a lot and as such just when to a local quicklube that carried the oil and it worked really well.  Since then I switched to PP 5w30 trying to make my car sound less like a diesel with my ingall stiffy and it really quieted things down.  Still starts good when its 30 below too.

He's from Cananadadadada Mike.  I think I'm going to have to try some M1 0W20 when I use up my supply of M1 5W20.  I should probably do a UOA first though.

I'm from Canada.  Gets down to a least that a couple of times a year.  In December it was 20 below (5 below F) for several weeks but we usually see it drop to 40 below (same in F) 1-3 days a year.  Add some wind chill to 25 below and it feels like -50(-58) to -60C (-76F).  Bare skin will freeze like it's that cold too.  Jan and feb have been around freezing for the most part which feels really warm after a cold spell.

+1 My car doesn't like to start at around 20. I dont think the car or I would be able to tolerate those temp's.
