So I finally decided to not be lazy about my cardio workouts and stepped it up this week.. I started to realize that my maintenance phase wasn't so much maintenance, and I ended up gaining some of the weight I lost late last year and early this year. Before I gain it all back, I decided that I should start paying more attention to what I'm eating and add more cardio into my workout schedule.
I went for a 5 mi. bike ride on Sunday morning, followed by a 2.6 mile run on Sunday evening. Even with doing leg workouts in the gym, my quads felt sore after the run.
Fast forward to today, I decided to join some coworkers on a lunch ride. Did about 9.5 miles or so, and that kicked my ass.. I guess my quads weren't fully recovered from Sunday's workouts, as I started feeling sore a couple hours later.
Holy shit is my body feeling it.. It's a blast though! Although, cycling is making me wonder why I wanted to start running again, lol..

Ok. This girl is out of shape. Starting today, i'm going to make small changes and big ones. I'm adding more water, taken the yolks out of my hard boiled eggs, and no more trips to Starbucks for lunch. Unless i'm getting an unsweetened green tea, or banana! Doing more stretches and some office yoga as well. Small steps!

I was a size 7 a few years ago, that was a good place for me. I just had to have my wedding ring resized, again.
more water, and as much as it hurts me to say it: less beer..... D: BUT! There's some hard liquors that are lower in calories and sugar
I hate the taste of water (or lack there of)

The yolk in the egg is actually good for you.. It contains most of the the amino acids and proteins; which means the yolk is actually the most beneficial part of the egg. The cholesterol in eggs is dietary cholesterol, and recent studies have found that dietary cholesterol is not linked to blood cholesterol. The fat in the egg yolk is negligible, and we, as humans, need fat in our diet to survive.
Here are a couple good articles to read. The first one is about the 20 super foods that will help you eat healthy. The second article refers to the properties of eggs and how they relate to the effects of statin drugs. Statin drugs are those drugs that are prescribed to help people lower blood cholesterol.

http://www.sherdog.net/forums/f15/eggs-natural-statins-772889/
In addition to the links above, here is an excerpt about eggs from Men's Health editor David Zinczenko's The Abs Diet:
"Superpowers: builds muscle, burns fat
Secret weapons: protein, vitamin B12, vitamin A
Fights against: obesity
For a long time, eggs were considered pure evil, and doctors were more likely to recommend tossing eggs at passing cars than into omelet pans. That's because just two eggs contain enough cholesterol to put you over the daily recommended value. Though you can cut out some of the cholesterol by removing part of the yolk and using the whites,
more and more research shows that eating an egg or two a day will not raise your cholesterol levels, as once previously believed
. In fact,
we've learned that most blood cholesterol is made by the body from dietary fat, not dietary cholesterol
. And that's why you should take advantage of eggs and their powerful makeup of protein.
The protein found in eggs has the highest "biological value" of protein--a measure of how weill it supports your body's protein need--of any food. In other words,
the protein in eggs is more effective in building muscle than protein from other sources
, even milk and beef.
Eggs also contain vitamin B12, which is necessary for fat breakdown
."

Alcohol in general is not really conducive to losing weight. I know it sucks, but if you could find a way to not drink any form of alcohol for say like 2 weeks, that would help a lot.
There are ways to flavor water to help with the lack of taste. I've actually never had that problem though; at times, all I want to drink is water. Keep in mind, you can get a lot of water through food sources also.

I love fried eggs. Hard boiled eggs I can live without. I think I'm going to cut back on alcohol again to see if I can lose some of this extra weight. I'm feeling really annoyed with myself. I'm going to start jogging tomorrow too.
