I got that app last night. I tweaked my ankle yesterday, so I'm going to rest today and if my ankle is fine tomorrow, I'll try it out.

That's why the app is designed to start you out slow. Decreases injuries.
Yesterday was chest and triceps day. And damn I'm feeling it. It hurts to turn the steering wheel

The injury wasn't because I over did it. I just landed wrong when I was running yesterday. I have bad ankles from skateboarding when I was younger.

I just started jogging again today. Being a lazy ass for 3 weeks while my ankle was healing made today really difficult. Hopefully it gets a little bit easier as I keep jogging. I was event thinking of going for a second run later today to improve my stamina.

I'm down 20 with just the diet change, sort of hit a lull though. Time for some exercise I guess.

I got back on the bike for the first time since new york (a month, I been slackin) the other day. Of course I picked the hottest day of the week to go.
I wanna ride more, but its been rainin here every day for the last three weeks. And I need to get my bike tuned up. Its got air in the brake lines and somethin wrong with the rear axle, a really bad squeal. I cant still ride it like that but its annoying as fock...

I've found that when I exercise I tend to eat healthier. When I'm lazy, not so much. I'm just glad my ankle doesn't hurt any more. I realized that today was the first time I've run in my new shoes. Definitely a good purchase and hopefully they will help me progress to barefoot running by the end of the summer.
I'm going to be getting a bike soon. I'm thinking about picking up a Cannondale CAAD8 7. It seems like a decent entry level road bike for under $1k.

Cannondales are def nice bikes. I justvlike riding cause I actually enjoy it, just throw in some headphones and bang out 15 miles easy and enjoy the view all around on the nature trails and stuff.

Are there benefits to barefoot running?

I loved the Cannondale R900 I had a while ago. I used to ride everywhere when I lived in Boston.
As far as barefoot running goes, there are a few benefits. From my research, barefoot running improves strength and balance, while it helps reduce injury from the added strength. Basically, the argument is that shoes correct improper biomechanics, which weakens muscles, tendons and ligaments. It's also a different style of running, where you land on the balls of your feet instead of your heels in cushioned shoes. This is actually a more natural way of running.
Most running shoes have a heavily cushioned heel, which will created the tendency to land on your heels. The shoes I'm running in right now actually promote landing mid foot instead of on my heels when I run. That way, it will be easier for me to transition to barefoot running when I make the switch.

Tim, what kind of shoes did you get? I just bought a pair of Nike Flex 2012, and they're very nice. They are very minimalistic, so they better represent barefoot running.
Now I just have to run in them. I've been a lazy fuck this summer.
