How is everyone doing? So i just got my cell phone back in the mail today, but Verizon has almost no service around here. I have heard a few other people on base who have Verizon talk about switching some kind of setting in their phone to use the Alltel towers and get better service. Does anyone know how I could do this, or know where I could look to find this info? I've been searching google for almost an hour with no results. Any help would be appreciated.

The phone is a LG VX9400.

It ussually goes a little something like this

Settings > Wirless Settings(Network settings) > Select Network

I don't know how this works with billing so don't blame me if you end up with a 9 million dollar phone bill. I'm just give your directions.

you can also update the with *228, this allows the phone to search for new towers. i previously managed a radioshack when we sold verizon and that is what we did.

ij u have free roaming (which most companies do), switch the settings to strictly roaming

Glad to hear that *228 worked.  IIRC, Verizon owns AllTell now.  I don't think they make fun of Verizon in their commercials any more.
