Coilover length(s) For all of you w/ or hoping to buy! FYI's..I guess

Guys & Gals,
I decided to start this thread. You may or may not contribute, totally up to you. I'm in a debacle w/ my ride height. My solution is this thread & a tad bit more research. To help myself and others.
If you'd like to help, whenever you are removing or installing your coilover I'd appreciate it if you'd take some measurements.
WHY?
Our accord has a lip kit, our driveway is steep, our streets are not the best, shopping driveways are insane, speed bumps - alternate route..etc etc Basically,
w/ our Function Form Type I's adjusted at it's highest raised setting is too low for our sedan accessorized ( lip kit & rim choice ).
Here's a short guide for all participants....Thanks in Advance!
-Suspensions Measured 7th Gen Accord-
Function Type I
* Front 19.4" ( inches )
* Rear 22.6" ( inches )

I'll be glad to include some info when my new suspension comes in. I would like to add to the discussion that the spring rate will change your ride height at the same length of adjustment. i.e. - your car will sit higher with stiffer springs
Just some food for thought. I'll be adding my info whenever my new suspension gets here. Would you also like final ride height? What is your ride height at now Joel? Maybe you could measure at the lowest point of your front lip, side skirts, maybe rear bumper, and wheel gap?

Sounds good sir, contribute whatever info. you can. Can I ask your next susp. choice ahead of schedule by chance?
The entire kit sits about 3''s of the ground, maybe 3.5 in the rear...wheel gap in the negatives -1 finger, I know because I lost my index one in there hahaha My car going into my driveway - into the garage sits 1" above pavement.
About stiff rates I beg to differ. Spring rates do not effect your ride height. Stiffer rates help maintain your ride height. However w/ the impending birth of my second child, stiffer rates are far from an ideal mod. To add to that by changing preload you can gain .5''s of height. Another less then ideal fix. this will leave your spring w/ free travel before it even begins to work. So your better of as-is, in my scenario.

My new suspension is the Tein Comfort Sports for the TSX.
I wasn't suggesting that you go with a stiffer spring rate to resolve your problem though. That wasn't my intent. I only brought it up because I thought it could make a difference. I could be wrong though. I don't have any facts to back it up, just a theory based on my knowledge of physics.
From what I recall, I believe someone else went with a lower spring rate as a way to lower his car some more. Now, this isn't something that I have personal experience with. So I could very well be wrong about it. I do believe that guys that have run V6 springs (i.e. - HFP) on an i4 and didn't really get that much of a drop. I can also admit that I have not measured the difference in height between the V6 and i4 springs, but I do know the V6 spring rate is higher than the i4 spring rate. I guess the only way I could get the answer to that question is if I were to swap the springs from my Basics on to the Comfort Sports, measure, put the Comfort Sport springs back on, then measure again and compare notes. I'll be honest though. That's more work than I'm willing to do. I will however be sure to take measurements while installing the new suspension this weekend.

Does that mean your ride height issue was resolved? Can you get in your driveway now?

I haven't tried it w/ the front lip yet, but I did gauge via wifes job driveway the rest of the kit. It used to scrape slightly but not anymore. I think I may be fine
As far as full resolution - unknown, but I have faith LOL! I get in our driveway a lot easier now.

Have you considered changing your driveway entrance? Our neighbor couldn't get her new car in the driveway, so she contacted the HOA. I guess they called someone, but they basically made a concrete ramp that goes into the drive way. That might be a cheap, easy solution for you.

I guess he has money to burn. I'd rather waste my money on parts that actually make my car faster, hookers, and drugs. Fucking amateurs. :

I think that his driveway is only part of the problem. It seems that the streets and other driveways in his area are also just as bad as the one at his home. Your suggestion wouldn't be a complete solution to his problem. I think he just doesn't want to be too low.
