Ike - what shops are you going to? I only know of a one decent one in Hunt Valley.
I haven't found a decent local shop yet.
I've ordered most of my sticks from
http://cigarsinternational.com/
and
http://cigarbid.com/

I really liked it. Cigars international had em on clearance or somethin.
How much? I may have to go over to their site to look for them.

Just had an A Fuente Short Story. This one had some age on it. About 8-10 months. This is a cigar that I have overlooked in the past for some reason. These are cigars that I would get a box of just to always have one on hand.

I finally had the between the lines last night. Tim, you were right, it was a great smoke once it started to calm down a little bit. After that, I finished my chattanooga whiskey and coke and my buddy decided he wanted to chill at the cigar shop longer. We ordered another round of drinks so I figured I'd grab a small cigar to have with this drink. Went with the Oliva Connecticut reserve petit corona. It was a little on the weak side, but still had some spice to it. The spice could have been left over from the AF BTL though.

A cigar shop with its own bar that you can smoke in? I wish we had one of those around here.

I actually prefer to enjoy cigars in the comfort of my home (err garage or back patio) over smoking in cigar shops/lounges. I reek of smoke after I leave and don't like having to pay for beverage. It's just not comfortable for me. The hobby of cigars is all about relaxation for me, so going somewhere I will be uncomfortable just takes away from the experience. When I buy a house, the garage will be big enough for a couch and one or two comfy chairs and also heated for the winter.
I'm enjoying an A Fuente Hemingway that I received as a Christmas present last December. Good smoke!

So how are the flavor notes? Was it as strong as you were hoping it wasn't?

I think it was just about right for a triple maduro. I couldn't nub it, but I thoroughly enjoyed smoking it. It would have been different if I were home and had a second beverage.

Really glad you enjoyed it. I think the fact that It was aged 7years really helps tone it down.
So I stumbled upon a company that makes cigar review notebooks. It seems pretty sweet, for new and experienced smokers alike.
