Rocking the new Samsung Galazy S... The phone is lightning fast my only complaint is that it comes with a lot of unwanted software but, a little birdy is providing me some knowledge in that area (thanks Jeff).

is it hard to get used to the touch screen? I like what I see with the galaxy s series.. but coming from a BB Curve, that I really need to upgrade, all good phones now a days are touch. the droid x that I was going to get, upon further investgation, was very difficult to type on for me.. Unless the Droid 2 comes out soon..?

I have no issues typing on it. The keyboard is very similar to that of the I pod touch. Maybe because they come from the same manufacturer over seas? I have giant fingers, and with the phone turned sideways I have 0 issues typing on it.

I absolutely love the landscape keyboard on the Droid X. I was amazed the second i laid my first finger on it. Compared to my tiny ipod touch, it's a night and day difference.

I think I need to get a hold of Verizon. I emailed the tech that helped me a while back, but I wasn't able to answer my phone when he called me back. I never followed up with him. I'm still having problems with my phone doing whatever it wants to. It's not playing sounds or vibrating when I get calls or messages, and it's also doing the usual stuff where it will play a different alert/ring tone than what I have it set to.

Eating gold is like the equivalent of wiping your butt with dollar bills. At some point, it's going to come in contact with my ass...just doing it in a more elegant way.

Tim, this was happening to me, and kind of still is with my curve. It won't play my selected ring tones for different people, and at one point it wouldn't ring at all.. at that point I took it to verizon, and all the guy did was take the battery out to restart it. I still can't get person specific ringtones to play, but atleast it makes noise again..

I personally like the feel of it, but it is outdated big time.. and OS 6 doesn't look very promising on the new torch.. basically blackberry is great for what it was originally designed for, emailing within businesses.. however, as a new age smart phone, the blackberry brand is pretty much obsolete. I mean, hell, they just released the Torch and it doesn't even have a 1ghz processor.. I would think that processor speeds would be going up to at least that in any new smart phone.. whatev... RIM is going down the tubes.

I think RIM will be bought out by someone in the next year. Metro PCS is on the move, and a potential buyer.
