2  Lounge / Off Topic / do you wave to other 7th gens? on: January 13, 2010, 02:52:38 AM
so my friend who drives a 3g eclipse asked me the other day if i waved to other 7th gens. i sorta thought about it for a second, and i realized ive never done that. i havent done it because everyone who drives a 7th gen in my community is usually a dad on their way to work and im pretty sure they would think im weird. he told me he only waves to eclipses that have some sort of exterior modification, which brings me to ask, do you wave at every 7th gen that you see? or just the ones that have some mods? or you dont wave at all?

just a random question thats been plaguing my mind :P

4  Electrical / Headlights, Tail Lights, HID's, LED's, & Other Lighting / inspire fogs with OEM harness on: November 15, 2009, 05:40:34 PM
i was reading an old post about using an OEM harness for inspire fogs. I was reading the old thread and there was a post saying to buy parts 5,6,7,8,9 from this list: http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/aut ... GLIGHT+KIT

and went i went to majestic honda and searched up foglight parts for the 06 accord sedan (which is the accord model i have), the parts were different. i was thinking the parts would be numbers 5,6,7,8 on this list: http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/aut ... +%28+06%29

NOTE: the links are 2 different model years, im pretty sure the first link is for 03-05 accords, and the second is 06-07. I'm probably going to buy the stuff from the 2nd link, but I just want to make sure with the experts here. would I need the parts from the first list or the second list. Sorry if this is confusing, if you ask a question, I'll try to clarify what I'm asking. Thanks for the help guys

just wondering, is there anyone in the socal 909/626 area that has experience with retrofitting?

i took mine off with stock piping and a muffler. HUGE FAIL.
sometimes im embarrassed to press on the throttle. doesnt sound super bad, just really bad.

needless to say, dont do it unless your getting quarter piping redone to 2.25. my friends eclipse with 2.25 from the cat and no res sounds pretty good

yeah i was talking about the 9006 bulbs.
dang, so that means i have to buy the ballast adapter and the bulbs as well as the projectors and shrouds -_______-

thanks for the help guys
9  Electrical / Headlights, Tail Lights, HID's, LED's, & Other Lighting / question about retrofit on: August 31, 2009, 03:54:14 PM
im checking out theretrofitsource.com, and i was checking out complete kits.
the complete kit includes:
Projectors
clear lens upgrade
OEM ballasts
OEM Philips 85122+ D2S bulbs
Shrouds
low beam relay wire harness

if i already have a hid system with ballasts, bulbs and a wire harness, i should only need the projectors, clear lens and the shrouds correct? or only the bulbs included fit the projectors? someone halpz me :]
10  K Series Performance / Bolt Ons / Re: ceramic vs stainless headers on: August 29, 2009, 12:01:57 AM
alright cool. the cat im gonna get is 2.25 inlet and outlet, so i guess the only restriction im going to get is from the the transition from the headers to the cat.
and when the test pipe goes bad, there should be like a type of whisling sound? idk how to describe it, but i think i know what aznboy is talking about.

should i go ahead and replace the flex pipe as soon as i install it? or wait until it breaks (if it does), then replace it?
11  K Series Performance / Bolt Ons / Re: ceramic vs stainless headers on: August 28, 2009, 04:59:13 PM
does the cat play a part in restricting the headers? cuz im debating wether to get a test pipe or not, but living in southern california, with the super strict emissions laws and whatnot, i dont really want to pay a fine.

if youve got a hiflow cat, and 2.25 piping from the cat, are the gains of the headers still significantly felt? because im looking for some low end torque/power.

and for the flex pipe, cant you just tell the exhaust shop to weld on a new one?
12  K Series Performance / Bolt Ons / The Only Header Thread You Should Ever Post In on: August 28, 2009, 12:09:34 AM
is there any significant performance difference between a DC ceramic 4-2-1 header or a DC stainless steel 4-2-1 header?
some people said stainless was just for look, but i wanna make sure. because the ceramic headers are like $200 cheaper, and i dont wanna buy a stainless just to show it off, when you cant even see the headers in my k24 engine :P

thanks :]

im gonna do this probably next weekend. what kind of paint did you guys use? i know theres a hi temp paint thats supposed to be used but is that all?
15  K Series Performance / Bolt Ons / Re: question about exhaust inlet size on: August 15, 2009, 02:31:01 PM
k cool. the reason i asked about the 2" inlet was because the gay muffler i have right now has a 2" inlet. but yeah, thanks for the help guys. ill probably go with the first setup listed above
