i tinted my tail lights myself (don't get the pre-cut tint kits...major pain in the ass!). but they aren't as dark as i want them to be unfortunately so i may have to get some darker tint for them. anyway here are the pictures! don't hate on the rough edges...im waiting for them to sit on the lights for a few days till i trim around the lights better.

the place said i can return the film for a full refund...but i don't see the point in that since it would be trash anyway.

to those with tinted tail lights, what % tint are they? im thinking i may try some 35% film on mine next, or maybe 20%.

Don't go any darker.  That's just asking for attention from the cops and it's not safe.  When I see people with totally blacked-out tails, when they're braking, the light output is less then when regular tails are just plain on.

I agree with Milan. If you are going to redo them, paint them. That way you can choose how dark you want them by wet sanding more off if you want.

painting them would be a good choice to see how dark you want them. its hard to tell how dark you are % wise but light sprays every time would be a good way to start.

thanks guys! yeah im probably not going to go darker, hopefully it'll turn a little darker from the lights potentially baking it, or the sun baking them. im still trying to see what happens with the company though because their pictures make it look like it's black...so hopefully it'll get me something cool.

Yeah man those came out great... That was the shade I wanted on mines because I think mines are way too dark...

Look at mines;

I think they look good right now, but don't go any darker. I love tinted tails on our dark cars.

How long did it take you to tint them?

thanks guys!

in all it took me maybe an hour and a half to do this. just the tinting, not involving removing the tail lights from the car. but that may have been an unnecessary step.

yeah it was unnecessary, its much easier with the lights on the car..IMO, they still look really good.
