Question about tread left
«
on:

I've been looking for 2010 accord sedan tires and rims on craigslist for god knows how long. I came across a guy who's selling the full set for $450. I emailed him asking how much tread is left and he told me
"tread depth is 7/32nds"
. Is that good?
BTW Tires are michellins 225/50/17.

A tire with 7/32 has a lot of life left. Depending on the tire and type of driving, you should get anywhere from 10,000 to 25,000 miles of service from it. This assumes that you maintain proper inflation, and the car is in alignment.

I typically replace tires when 5/32 of tread remains, 4/32 at a bare minimum. This is the point that I typically see loss of traction and some control on wet roads.

I agree with this. When I replaced my tires I had 4/32 left and there wasn't much meat on them at all, to there point where I didn’t feel safe driving it in the rain.
