On importatlanta.com i have a deal in the works on a set of RSX base wheels(5 spokes) painted black(i personally like them for a set of 16's and they look clean). His price on them was 500 on the thread and they have average 90 percent tread life on them. The guy wants to trade for the grams and i told him to add 200(i have 800 in the grams total) and i will be losing 100 on it but i am tired of having wheels i cannot use. Do you guys think that is a piss poor deal? Matt seems to think so so i want you all opinion

Thanks,
-Big Mike

I bought a set of TL 5-spoke rims a few months ago on Acurazine, and the seller advertised "85% tread life left" on his tires.  I got the tires and they had more like 25% tread left. If you cannot see the tires in person I would request pictures of each tire tread with a penny in the tread so you can see how approximately how much is left. Personally, I will never buy used tires again unless I can see them in person.

Good luck!

If your friend is going to inspect them you should be safe. Sorry I didn't answer your question: I think $500 is pretty fair for those rims and tires.  Maybe see if he will take $450.

Not saying you are, but you defintly don't just want to eye ball it or guess.

I believe the RSX came with 16" X 6.5" 45mm offset. Im too lazy to research ours, Im sure if you search this or gen7 fourm you'll find something. If there is a way to prefit the wheel/tire on your car before you purchase (or any gen7) I would try and do this. I don't think I've ever seen an RSX wheel on a gen7, not to say it can't be done. Just do your homework bro.

The optimal offset for our cars is a +40to45ish lol i have done my wheel offset research man i learned the hard way, by buying the grams... which are a +30 lol and hard to fit on the car which i still may just stretch tires on htem to make them work since the aformentioned deal fell thru kid was a serious noob

Stock wheel offset is +55.  My TL rims are +45 and they stick out a little more than stock. I wouldn't go below +40

Our coupe is running on 18x8 wheels with a +30mm offset on a set of 225/40/18 tires dropped on Neuspeed Race springs.  I would say that the ideal offset is about 35-45.  Anything higher just sits too far in the wheel well and anything lower will require you to run camber or will stick out too much.

I suppose its a matter of preference.  When I look at the side profile of my wheels from the front or back I don't like to see the tire sticking out beyond the fender.  With +45 my tires are just within the fender...

That is what i would like but the grams with a stretched tire would look kinda sick
