Well if this weekend showed us anything, it's that while offenses can put up pretty numbers and break all kinds of records, defenses are what wins championships.   

This bodes well for the Ravens next week.

Sorry I didn't get my picks in this week, I was in bed sick most of the weekend.  Oh well.

Hope you feel better... I disagree with the Defense comment though. On the East side there was no indication of Defense winning anything. Houston won with Defense all season, and won a playoff round with a 4th string QB because of there Defense. In the NFC games both winning teams scored 35+ points, and allowed 20 or more. Those are scores indicative of good Defense?

The giants defense played lights out football.  Sure there were a lot of points but did you even watch the game?  They were as dominant a defense as I've seen in a long time.  Same with the 49ers.  When you play offensive powerhouses like GB and NO, of course they will score points no matter what.  The great defenses of the Giants and 49ers limited the opposing offenses just enough for their teams to win it.  

Oh and one last note, I hope all those morons in the media that said Lewis and Reed should be benched watched the game this weekend.  They were the two most dominant players on the field in that game and without either one of them I don't think we would have pulled off the win.

Those two player did have good games. Keep in mind the Packers dropped the ball eight times.

The giants did not only have to battle the packers, but they also had to battle the refs.  The one fumble call was BS.  Then there was another call, which I can't recall right now in the second half that was also BS.   That first call was what led to the packers scoring their first touch down.  

Edit: I remember now, it was a roughing the passer flag that led to another touchdown.

Those refs had money on this game.

Yeah the refs made a horrible call on that fumble and then not reversing it on the challenge?  Terrible. 

I'm glad it didn't cost them the game.

wow thanks for the picks guys!  kept me tied for the lead lol.  In honor of two of the fallen teams this weekend, my wedding party took a picture with the groomsmen/me Tebowing, and the bridesmaids/bride doing the "discount double check" behind us.  Hopefully our photographer gets us the pictures quick! lol
