While cleaning up my TL rims today I discovered a method that works well to remove old wheel weight adhesive.

1. Spray  WD40 on the old adhesive.
2. Find a round plastic bic pen and pull the head off so you have a little plastic tube.
3. Scrape the hell out of the old adhesive with the open end of the pen body.
4. Wipe with a paper towel and reapply WD40 as needed...will take a couple applications.

I tried using a pocket knife first and found it will scratch up the finish. I decided I needed a plastic scraper and the pen was the first thing I found. Simple yet effective.

Hope this helps.

+1 Goo Gone is amazing for removing any type of glue residue, and in most applications will not damage a painted finish.

Brake Cleaner is great for cleaning rotors! Haven't ever tried to use it on painted surfaces though.

If you wanna go crazy you could just get a propane torch and clean them up like that haha.
