I had this idea of customizing my (Howard Viele) Spyderco Phoenix with Micarta handles and Titanium body to a perfect blend of Machine vs Nature. So I sought out to find the Perfect Wood. I found a guy who makes Acoustic/electric guitars with superb craftsmanship and had some Birds Eye Maple laying around. We decided to give it a go and I will post the progress pictures as we get closer to the finished product. I am in love with this idea (this is my daily carry.) I hope you guys dont take offense that I did this, but I became obsessed with the idea years back. So here it goes.... Im also a Pledging member of Kniferights.org as well as the NRA to protect our Second amendment. Here are the pics...

Looks cool.  Some people on here are into a lot of things and they all share their hobbies with us.  I don't think you'll offend anybody.  Curious to see the end result.  Good luck.

I'm a huge fan of blades. I have a different one that I carry with practically every pair of pants that I own. I'd love to see how this turns out.

Very nice.  I love knives, but all of mine are chef's knives.  I carry an itty bitty blade on me.  I kinda want to get something nice though.
