The couple people I know that have the new iPad say they love it. Honestly though, if it were me, I think I'd go with an android tablet. Although, I do like the iPad's, I just think they are lacking something.

As for Motorola and Samsung, I will never buy anything from Motorola ever again and I will never buy a Samsung phone again. I like Samsung TV's though. I just bought one a couple days ago. And like Tim said, their cable boxes are horrible.

Tim, I knew you were not only talking about phones, I was just simply giving an example.
OT: Motorola products are way too buggy, any 'system update' you accept, is the end of the life of the phone. At the end of the day, we all have our own tastes, wants and needs.

I'm getting tired of the ear fatigue that I'm getting from using in-ear headphones while traveling on a plane, so I'm looking into getting a pair of noise-canceling on-ear or over-ear headphones.  Any recommendations?

Beats by Dre are not noise canceling headphones.  They are noise isolating headphones.  What they do is just play white/pink noise (static) to drown out any noise around you.  

IMHO, the Beats aren't very good quality either.  They just blast a shitload of bass, which will damage your hearing.  They have had a ton of issues with headbands breaking.  Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.  I was talking with someone that had the Solo's (or something), and he lost one of the ear cushions.  When he called up Monster, they wouldn't even sell him a replacement cushion.  They just told him to buy another pair of headphones.  That's horrible service if you can't even replace a cushion for a pair of $300 headphones that are under warranty.  Unfortunately, the artist endorsements create a ton of hype and kids don't know that a lot of bass does not equal quality audio.  That's why they sell so much.

Mark, you know my opinion on what to get for headphones for traveling.  If you want me to hook you up with a pair of headphones that have actual noise canceling, made by the company that invented/pioneered noise canceling technology, hit me up.

I have to agree with Tim.  I am not impressed with Beats by Dre, especially for the price point they are selling at.  I tried them, and as Tim said, they blast a shitload of bass.  I don't equate more bass to mean better SQ.

I plan to use the headphones for casual listening also, so I want something with a more balanced sound profile.  I'm more interested in the noise-canceling than SQ, but I don't want to sacrifice the audio quality too much either.  I'm also looking to possibly use these as my primary set of cans.

They will either be hooked up directly to either my laptop, iPod, phone, or future tablet; or they will be connected to my portable DAC/headphone amplifier that will be connected to one of those devices.  I currently have a couple pairs of vmoda in-ear buds and they aren't shabby.  One of the pairs is better than the other (forgot model names), but I mostly use them for travel, casual listening at my desk, or when running.  I plan to continue using them while running and at my desk at work.  But I'm tired of having to turn up the volume while traveling to only have my ears hurt by the end of the flight.

I also have a set of Pioneer HDJ-2000 that I mostly use for music.  I sometimes use them for casual listening, but I prefer to use them when I am mixing or when analyzing songs/mixes.  While they have a great seal, they aren't noise canceling and I would prefer to leave them at home.

Tim, I do know your opinion, and honestly, that's where I am leaning towards.  I was just curious if folks have had experience with other models, or possibility multiple models of the competition, so to possibly provide a comparative review or mention a set I haven't looked into yet.

Any suggestions on a tablet ? Primary use surfing the web,netflix, movies music. I've hear bad things about the tablets with Android. I don't wanna pay a monthly fee so just WiFi. Any sugs?

I'll let you know what I think of the iPad when I spend some more time with it.  I just got it on Friday and haven't had any time to play with it yet or set it up.  I have a feeling that I'm going to like it based on the fact that I own other Apple devices and am already comfortable with iOS.

I got an iPad2 unfortunately.  It's a 3G one, but I haven't decided whether I want to set up the 3G or not yet.

Yeah.  I'm debating whether or not I want to set up 3G on it.  I'm guessing it wouldn't be that hard to add on to my current cell phone account.
