Mike, PM replied. Tim, since the iPhone works with GSM networks and Verizon is CDMA, it probably won't work. Though, I've heard of people cracking them to work with Verizon but I can't confirm that.

I actually don't think it's possible with out Hardware modifications GSM and CDMA use different frequencies and different modulation schemes. In order for a GSM device to work on a CDMA network it would have to be modified to look for those frequencies, and then be able to arrange them in a useful manner. Prior to worrying about this part a solution would have to be found to use RUIM in place of SIM (card) for supplying network credentials. I’m sure it’s possible but, the cost would likely be astonishing.

So, i got the droid X. I love the keyboard compared to my ipod touch. The extra half inch of screen really helps. I'll post back later when i finish evaluating this phone. So far i love it!

I was in verizon today getting BB #7 activated and having them do all the bitch work.  I saw the Droid X, and then found out it was made by Motorola.  There's no way in hell I would ever get that phone.

Does it feel too big though? I was looking at some other phones and the HTC Incredible has a 4.3" screen, I think it was that phone. I do not think I would like a phone that was that big.

The HTC Incredible had a 3.7" screen i believe. the Droid X has a 4.3" screen. To be honest, I don't mind it at all. I actually like it a lot. It's a heck of a lot roomier than my iPod Touch is.

Ah, I guess I got those two confused. Which one has the kick stand? How thick is it? I have noticed that my phone is kinda heavy, it is only 9mm thick too. I guess it is because of the materials.

The phone isn't that much thicker than the iPhone 4.



I think Sprint's EVO phone or whatever it is is the one with the kickstand.

I'm going to check out the Droid X tomorrow. Rumor has it the Nexus One will be available in stores soon. I've been exchanging emails with google about getting another one and they finally shared that information with me. It should make it a lot easier to get.

That's the one I was talking about, the Evo. I watched a comparison video on youtube. Me and my friend installed Anroid on an iPhone 2g. I may start putting out android apps too. The software I use now supports android and I have the sdk so we will see. I'd kinda like to have a Android phone though, instead of it on an iPhone.

The web browsing is a shitton better than on my iPod Touch 2G. Obviously because the X has like 300mb of ram to use whereas the iPod has like 20mb, lol. I'm thinking about writing a full blown review, but i'm too lazy.
