Talk about a frankenstein car. Front/Rear styling of a Lotus, Side profile & Wing from a Carerra GT, and engine from a Corvette. I def like it, just seems like a chopped car.

I disagree completely Take a look at Hennessey performances track record. I doubt anything about this car is "chopped" maybe they took the best of some vehicles and combined them. But, that have been building cars and making sick parts for a while now. Check out their
Website
its rather impressive.

No I didnt mean they chopped up the aforementioned cars and put them all together....but the overall design elements are def taken from the Lotus and the Porsche. I was never knocking the design, I love the way it looks....I was simply saying it looks as if the designers took a LOT of cues from other performance cars.

I think its sexy as hell. The power to weight ratio is beastly. I think I creamed myself.

Sick. I like it. I wonder if that top speed is theoretical or has been put to practice yet.

I'm guessing 272mph is theoretical top speed. However, I think its entirely possible...the Bugatti Veyron has ~1,000bhp, weights more and has a top speed of 253mph....which was validated on TopGear at the private VW test track in Germany.
If you guys like the way it looks, listen to how it sounds (use the HD version).

I can't even imagine 0-60 in 2.4 seconds. That's just crazy! And it does look a lot like the Lotus designs but I really like it.

Yeah. I hear ya man. At those speeds, power and weight are only part of the problem. The biggest concern is now wind resistance and making sure it doesn't take flight while reaching it's top speed.

I just read that the Veyron weighs a hefty 4,000lbs. I'm surprized the Venom GT has a top speed of only 20mph more than the Veyron, given it weighs 1,600lbs less!
Though at those types of speeds physics are doing everything it can to keep a car from going faster. On the TopGear episode with the Veyron, they said it only takes 275HP to make the car go 155mph....but it takes another 850HP to go the next 100mph.

Lets have some Physics geek fun... Basically when you break it all down using the formula that calculates the amount of power needed to overcome wind resistance (drag). As the speed doubles the amount of drag quadruples. Obviously like Time said the bigger issue is directing the air to create down force to keep the car planted on the ground.
