may be a dumb question, but what is the weight of our cars (sedan), the gvw is like 4200 pounds, but that takes into consideration "cargo" as well as the actual wight of the car

I think the weight is listed on the driver side door jam. The area where it has ya VIN, when your vehicle was made and what the tire pressure should be.

Ooo I didn't know that. I'm not sure of the difference between the gvw and curb weight for your car, but on Edmunds, they got the curb weight as 3124 lbs.
